The village and surrounding area is beautiful and very peaceful. Good Dartmoor ale, excellent breakfast, large outdoor area. Good supply of coffee and tea in the room

"Extremely good value - all we needed without any unnecessary bits."

A great pub room in a small courtyard behind the main building, so no noise from below. Spacious rear (sloping) garden next to the church - very peaceful until the bells chimed; which we greatly enjoyed. A caring landlady and friendly visitors, all added to making our stay very enjoyable. We will come again.

Super nette Eigentümer, die sich nach brtischer Manier sehr um Ihre Gäste kümmern, sehr kommunikativ sind und zB Extrawünsche beim Frühstück gerne erfüllen. Tolles Ambiente in einem verschlafenen Nest, The Royal Oak Inn ist urig eingerichtet, hat hier und da etwas Erneuerungsbedarf, aber absolut sauber. Toll zum Abschalten, hat einen großen schönen Garten mit Sitzplätzen und sogar eine Tischtennis Platte. Habe gegen Mark (Eigentümer) anerkennend ein Match klar verloren 😄 Mark ist gleichzeitig Koch und Barkeeper und sehr committed. Mit dem Auto ist man In ca. 20min an der Fingle Bridge, von wo man eine wunderbare Wanderung zum Castle Drogo in toller Natur machen kann. Komme gerne wieder 😉

Etwas zu niedriger Wasserdruck in der Dusche 🥴
