Décor could do with an update

Breakfast was excellent with a good variety of choice, well cooked and presented. From arriving at hotel through to departure, all staff were very helpful and friendly. Bed linen and towels were clean. Room had good lighting. Very hot water always available. Good wardrobe and drawer space. Hotel not having air conditioning, a fan was provided.

Bathroom very dated and didn't like the bath panel or shower door. Would prefer walk in shower. Would like additional plugs.

Excellent location, right on the seafront. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The communal areas were very clean and very smart. The bedroom was quite large and had everything that you would need (even an electric fan). Parking also available.

The location was perfect. The staff tried—but I was very unrepresentative of the rest of their clients.

This was a hotel for elderly people on coach trips and planned holidays. It’s owned by a company that runs those types of holidays all over the UK. Bookings.com didn’t make that clear at all—it just looked like a simple and serviceable, well located, well priced seafront hotel. The decor was Fawlty Towers-esque. I was travelling for work and the stay was characterised by my first night when they didn’t have an iron or ironing board I could use. I had to beg the hotel down the road to use theirs for my work shirts. Breakfast was only 8am - 9am whereas I needed to be leaving at 8am for work each morning. I’ve never seen such a tight window.
