The New Inn

Just a fabulously phenomenal place. People and atmosphere full of kindness. The location at the top of the mountains, the view from the window to the top of the mountains. It's a fairy tale for us.

Everything was fine.

The setting in a valley with lofty mountains was beautiful as was the view from our bedroom window. It was easy to park nearby. With the right management, the place has potential.

To start with, the room lacked basic amenities such as bedside tables and cupboards to put our stuff in. The decoration and furniture was very dated and in a bad state of repair (the panelling under the bath was coming off with nails dangerously exposed). There was no shower and only a bath and we found it hard to wash our hair that way. Service was sloppy. No milk was provided with our tea and we had to go downstairs and ask for it. There was a lot of noise at night from other guests. The pub rooms were cramped and our tables had been shoved together so we were eating with strangers. When we turned up for breakfast in the morning no staff could be found anywhere. Tablecloths had been put on the tables half-done as if we were supposed to do this ourselves. We were supposed to have a cooked breakfast, but nobody was there to cook it, so we ate some toast with no butter. That was it. We felt cheated and that is why I have given it the lowest rating possible. It was a nice building but management was appalling.

Paid to have breakfast didn't provide breakfast not even milk on the second morning a lot of guest's not impressed. Greasy overpriced flash fried food. Nice area shame about the food and accommodation room was filthy. Don't put breakfast included if your not providing it in the price you charge. Stay clear of this place is my advice.

The pub food was good and the location was ideal for riding at Revolution Bike Park nearby. The staff were also very friendly and happy to help.

It was fairly expensive for the location, but not surprising given the difficulty in finding available alternate options. The room was dated and bathroom could do with a refit.
