Food was very good, staff very friendly and efficient. Room and bed were big and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Location excellent for a stopover on way down M6.

Heating was on throughout the hotel and couldn't be turned off.

Not the first time I’ve stayed here, and not the first time I’ve complained about the wifi quality. Without doubt, the worst hotel wifi I’ve ever come across. Signal throughout the accommodation section is appalling and keeps dropping after being inactive for a short time, requiring login again. It’s a lovely old building, with thick walls, so normal 4g / 5g struggles. This makes WiFi even more important for residents. The hotel have told me in the past that they’d look into it, but clearly they never do - it’s just a put-off given to guests. Getting a new WiFi system isn’t difficult these days. Suggest you get it done or after one more visit, you’ll certainly lose this guest.

Beautiful, interesting pub with very comfortable rooms and so close to M6. Had a good dinner too as well as delicious breakfast. Well priced alternative to staying at motorway service area.
