"Great overnighter..."

9.0

Lovely room, clean, quiet, though it was a bit hot given we were during a heatwave and our room was at the top. Great breakfast plentiful and varied. Nice that the check out was quite late - 12.00 - so there was no need to rush.

As I said, the room was quite hot, as we happen to stay while a heatwave and no air con. But then again, I presume most of the time there is no need for that, so this is more of an observation, not a criticism. Also, as it is on a main road, there was quite a bit of heavy traffic. If you are a light sleeper you may want to ask for a room away from the road.

"Lovely old building, good staff, but fairly average food quality."

7.0

Room 209 above kitchen extractor and no view which is what I expected, but ok inside, big bathroom. Restaurant portions big and generally tasty. Lots of parking. Big beer garden with space for kids and dogs to run around. Range of inside and outside seating, very olde England coaching inn. Fine staff.

No EV charger. No ‘special’ coffees at breakfast. No real salad option at Sunday dinner.

"Nicely located, large rooms for travelers."

8.0

The hotel was along the highway, with the closest town being about 3 km in either direction. It was a nice size for a room in this region. The pub downstairs was having trivia night, if that's your thing. Looks like a good place to eat, although we didn't eat there.

The only issue we had with this property was that our room was about 32 degrees when we arrived, due to the sun coming in, I guess. With no a/c, we never did get it down to a comfortable temperature, even with the windows open. Also, there was a light in the parking lot that seemed trained on the windows, so if you wanted it to be dark, you needed to have the curtains closed and if you wanted it to be cool, you needed the curtains open.
