Macdonald Highlands Hotel at Macdonald Aviemore Resort

Great location and great facilities for children. Large swimming pool and soft play was great. Bed was very comfortable and spacious rooms. Very Friendly staff everywhere we went in the hotel. The restaurant food was delicious and reasonably priced for dinner for the quality of food.

Play park could do with a bit of TLC and it was a shame that the play room was closed in the morning as we had to leave by 10am when it opened. Would be great if it was open from 8/9am for children who wake early in the morning but it was good that the soft play and pool were open. Our room was beside one of the communal corridor doors so we woke every time someone banged the door closed - quiet soft close doors would be great to solve this.

The rooms were dated and the room wasnt very clean. We found socks belonging to previous occupants on under a chair. When we retrieved them they were covered in dust. It was apparent that the furniture had not been pulled out for some time due to the dust. Rooms were dated in decore but we didn't mind that, just the dust as have allergies.
