Central location close to all the shops. Friendly staff.

Heating didn't come on in the morning, or evening staff advanced the heating several times which put it on in the evening. The room was dark (around the back) and small. Bed was uncomfortable.

"Fantastic stay & food in the heart of Tintagel"

9.0

Whole experience was great! I was upgraded to a larger room as they weren't fully booked. Room was very comfortable and full of character. I slept very well. Had dinner & breakfast and both were exceptional. Service was friendly and efficient. All staff I encountered were excellent and helpful. Will definitely return if in the area again. Location is right in the middle of Tintagel.

Hard to find any gripes but perhaps the access to the car park is a little tight and easy to miss if you aren't aware of where it is.

"Lovely staff saved the day after everything had gone awry"

8.0

Everything was going wrong for them at this beautiful ancient hotel when we arrived drenched and footsore from our walk - the shower in our room had blocked, the chef had fallen ill - but the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. They had arranged for us to stay in a beautiful apartment over the pasty shop just up the road, with 60 square metres of space, an outdoor deck, and sweeping views of the coast, exceptional. The kind woman who checked us in had bought fruit, milk, and bread and butter for us. Really exceptional. They don't normally do dinner on Sundays except for guests, but after a bit of to-and-fro the staff were able to rustle up a pretty good fish and chips for us for an early dinner and gave us some free beers to boot. Then we retired to our spacious eyrie to listen to the wind and rain howling off the sea and watch the sun setting in the storm. Nice!

Breakfast: we were asked to fill out a form saying what we wanted for breakfast the night before. We would have preferred a buffet breakfast with a few hot choices like most places do these days. That said, the granola/compote etc and toast was fine and plentiful. The other has put a plea for marmite :)
