Hotel Ohana Rapa Nui

There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this place. Firstly, the staff is beyond amazing! From the moment they welcomed us at arrival until our departure, they treated us like family. They showed no hesitation in striving to exceed expectations. Very attentive and friendly. The rooms were spotless and spacious (one of the largest and cleanest bathrooms). The air conditioner works very well! The grounds were manicured and well taken care of (fruit was growing on trees all around ready to be picked - which we did!). The breakfast was consistently good and filling. Also, the location was quite peaceful. No sounds of barking dogs to keep you up.

The staff were very accommodating. They went out of their way to make sure everything we wanted to experience, worked. If we couldn't get a taxi, they drove us themselves. They truly bent over backwards for us. The rooms are nice and the chef is excellent with her unique flavors and excellent plating. They will organize tours and car/bike rentals too. They seem to truly enjoy their jobs and take pride in making sure you're happy.

The hot tub was broken. I don't like it when something you pay for, isn't working. There were dogs next door that barked at 4:30 am., three mornings in a row for over an hour and woke us up. Kinda sucks when you're on vacation.

Very nice 'little' hotel with 9 rooms on walking distance from airport. Don't worry only a couple of flights per day ... Very peaceful location; very friendly service all day long and very nice swimming pool! Everything was 'perfect'. I recommend to all of you!

We stayed for a single night along our 10-day trip through Chile. Although we had a very limited window to explore Rapa Nui, the staff helped us maximize our time on the island. Our room (#7) was very nice and spacious with high vaulted ceilings. It had a large king bed with an additional double sized bed in the corner of the room. The bathroom was also large and well-appointed. The room had a great balcony that overlooked the central garden and grounds of the hotel. The only nit we had was with the wall AC unit occasionally making some funky buzzing and gurgling noises. Other than The meals provided by the hotel were excellent. Our dinner included a thick and creamy coconut-based soup; a nicely cooked and flavorful tuna steak accompanied with sweet caramelized onions, grilled grape tomatoes, maize, and an oil drizzle; and a white chocolate mouse complimented with a coffee puree and a purple magic dust of some sort. Breakfast not only included fresh pastries, fruit, and delicious coffee, but made to order omelettes. The staff went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay and maximize our time on the island. Pablo was friendly & helpful from meeting us at the airport with our guide, to check in, and even with dinner service. Our guide (Christian) was incredibly knowledgeable, flexible with our itinerary, and balanced providing us with information with allowing us space to take pictures and just experience the sites. Although the price points are pretty high (~$500/ni for room; $175/person/tour; ~$700 total for 2 days of tours for 2 people), we thought it was reasonable considering this is a remote island in the middle of the South Pacific and the quality of the accommodations and service. Overall, we would highly recommend staying with Hotel Ohana if you have limited time on the island and are looking for comfort, convenience, and customization.

Spacious, great pool and property, wonderful staff. Also far enough from Hanga Roa to be quiet. The restaurant is absolutely wonderful, both for breakfast and dinner (we had half-board which we absolutely recommend). The chef is an absolute gem! Very helpful manager and staff with excursions etc.

distant from town. We requested late checkout by 2 hours. They charged us an extra 60 usd at checkout for that - they did not let us know of the extra charge when we requested. Staff blamed it on mis Communication between different staff members.

Exactly what we needed - close to the airport and town, free transfer, nice pool and jacuzzi. Really good sized room and balcony. Breakfast was good. We didn't have the full dinner but had pizzas one evening which were tasty. No complaints - it was good!

Hotel staff picked us up at the airport and gave us an orientation drive around the city. Check in was smooth and the second-floor room was very spacious and comfortable, with air conditioning as needed. While there was no elevator, the staff carried up the luggage. The grounds were very well presented (the most beautiful we noticed among other properties), and the pool and hot tub were ready - we spent some time in the hot tub! Breakfast was good, with eggs or omelets prepared to order. Tours were easily arranged at the desk as were taxi services - normally $5 to the main city area for shows and restaurants. Check out was efficient as well. Of special note: My wife had a severe tooth and gum infection that developed prior to Rapa Nui and got worse while there. While checking out this was mentioned at the desk. Staff member Juan then used is own vehicle and took her to the hospital, translated symptoms, translated insurance and payment information, took us to a drug store for prescription pick up, and then took us to the airport in time to meet our departing flight. We appreciate and owe our ability to continue on our South American adventure to him and the flexibility showed by management at Hotel Ohana!
