Moksha at Kitulgala - Rainforest Boutique Hotel

Staying here is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You're literally in the heart of the rainforest, but with the comforts of air conditioning and kind, attentive service from the extremely accommodating staff. Lush beauty and wildlife all around. The natural pool is amazing and not to be missed. The hotel offers outdoor activities (rafting, canyoning, guided hikes, etc.). We did rafting and a guided hike - both awesome and quite adventurous! The kitchen staff prepared delicious meals to order, and were flexible with our special requests (getting a packed breakfast for the day trip). Everyone took really good care of us.

Some of the fixtures in the room were a bit run-down, which is understandable considering the climate and rural location. If you're looking for the very most modern luxuries, this is probably not the place for you. However, if you love the outdoors and being immersed in a unique, beautiful rainforest, then I can only recommend it. We had an amazing and unforgettable time here.

Location was superb. Natural beauty, lovely natural pool and stream. Excellent staff. Good service.

Food options not adequate for the price, food quality good but not exceptional. Dessert was below par at Dinner.

We search around the area for 5 star accomodation that was of a modern updated vibe and found Moksha. Communication with the staff from the moment we made the reservation was beyond exceptional and helpful. They are able to arrange many activities around Kitulgala and can even provide a driver upon arrival at the main airport. This tree house villa nestled within the jungle beside the rapids is private and secluded. The outdoors was impressive with the pool and the rapids and yes the rock pools were just lovely thou we didn’t get to explore further as it rained. The rooms are a decent size thou some rooms do not have a decent sized bathroom. We are a family and requested for two connecting rooms. The deluxe double had a larger bathroom which was way better but the second room which a regular deluxe room had a poorly sized bathroom. It was just too claustrophobic. We recommend the deluxe double over the deluxe rooms on account of the tiny bathroom in the latter. Breakfast was served in a lovely dining room overlooking the rainforest. Overall a good stay but certain areas of the property is beginning to show some signs of wear and tear and some neglect as there were many scuff marks.

Rooms were surface clean but the property could do better. Attention to merticulous detail is somewhat lacking as under the beds was a carpet of dust and light surface dust on the back of the lampshades. The bathrooms could do with some updating in the future. Overall, a good stay. Just wished the same effort in communication would go into better cleaning and upkeep of the property.

Everything was perfect. We had a lovely surprise for our honeymoon that we where not expecting. It was very peaceful we felt like we are the only ones there.
