It’s a beautiful old building with lots of potential under the right management. The waitress who served us dinner on Thursday night couldn’t have worked any harder or been more lovely, she was rushed off her feet, dealing with a busy restaurant and bar whilst v short staffed.

The pillows were extremely lumpy & uncomfortable, the bed was really hard, the shower tray filled up very quickly as it wasn’t draining properly so I had to stand in the shower with no water running several times so it didn’t overflow. The door to the bathroom didn’t open / close properly, it was sticking. Due to the age of the building, the windows were single glazed & there were emergency vehicle sirens going off throughout the night. Also loud music playing. The place needs a good clean (carpets, windowsills, skirting boards, hallways, stairs). Cutlery & crockery was dirty. A shame, because the property has good potential, I feel they were short staffed.

It is on a busy main road with emergency vehicles passing by quite frequently. Room overlooked near garden which was also noisy. Not suitable for a young child.

The restaurant was the best. Charlie gave splendid service
