Cedar Court Hotel Harrogate

I was upgraded to a better room no questions asked, front desk staff were excellent. Bed in the upgraded room was genuinely really comfortable and so were the pillows. To the point actually where I would actually order it for my own home! Very tastefully decorated. It is definitely worth taking the room upgrade.

Some of the other rooms aren’t nearly as nice, and do have 2 single beds pushed together to make one massive bed. I really can’t abide this! Guy behind the bar was miserable as sin. Bartenders should be sociable! Breakfast low quality. Same as a premier inn breakfast.

Stayed here a couple of times before. Location was ideal. The hotel no longer has a traditional reception desk/area but check-in and check-out were simple enough. Bed was comfortable. Free WiFi. We got back after midnight and found the bar was still open, which was good.

We had a small box room in the top corner overlooking the car park and a skip - although you couldn't see them without standing on the bed because the window was in the roof. Standard definition on the TV made it unwatchable. The shower was near impossible to regulate to a decent temperature, and the bath wouldn't drain - discovered that the filter on the bath plug was blocked with matted hair - gross - who knows how long since it was last cleaned. Charging £10 per night for parking is outrageous.

Paying £10 per night for parking felt like a hidden charge. Made the hotel more expensive to stay.

The room we were allocated on arrival was a good size, but well worn, and in need of a rennovation. At night, the fans above the kitchen that were directly outside our room window were exxeptionally loud and kept us up all night. The room was also very warm and uncomfortable. After complaining we were moved for our second and final night to a much more contemporary room with no noise issues which was much better. It was just a big shame that of a 2 night stay, 50% of it was so poor.

Had a lovely couple of days away at the Cedar Court. Great location and lovely hotel with lots of character. Easily within walking distance of the shops. Didn't have dinner but breakfast was lovely.
