Oruwa Boutique Villas

The setting of this hotel was perfect and was just what we were looking for. It’s a short drive away from the beach and was lovely and quiet in the hotel grounds. The view over the lagoon was amazing and so peaceful. The staff were all amazing and incredibly helpful and attentive.

Nothing that we didn’t like about the property one small thing was the water pressure dropped on the second night but wasn’t an issue.

Quite and peaceful Location near the lake. Stunning views of the lake from the restaurant and pool side.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. They upgraded our room because there was a big frog in the garden room.

It is a far from the main attractions in Arugam Bay. We booked this place because it had a pool, but the pool was very dirty, could not use it. I understand that it is in the wildlife area but if you are not used to frogs indoors dont book this place. restaurant was bad. There was no coca cola in the hotel, juices were almost like hot beverage. no cold water. wifi we could not sit there so we requested breakfast in the room and it was provided. they did not clean the room even if they said they would. if you stay out a bit late, getting in the hotel could be problem. wifi did not work. overall the only thing nice was the room itself and the manager who tried to help but I would not stay here again.

We loved the incredible view over the lagoon and the warmth of the staff - particularly the restaurant staff and chef. The food was delicious and plentiful and the service caring and genuine. We were able to order an early breakfast on our last morning, no problem. The rooms were great too. We felt very connected to nature.

There were a few mosquitoes to contend with.

We had a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the lagoon. The location is very peaceful and surrounded by nature . We spent hours watching water buffalo and birds on the lagoon. The pool is perfect for watching the lagoon life. Just a short tuk tuk ride to the beach and restaurants in Arugam Bay. Milhan the manager and Fairoos the restaurant manager and all the staff at Oruwa are very friendly , attentive and helpful. Food is also delicious , our compliments to the chef. Breakfast is excellent , western and Sri Lankan available. We had both and loved it .One of our nicest stays in Sri Lanka on our three month trip. We were here for four days .

The most beautiful setting - one of the most incredibly beautiful places we have stayed. Amazing rooms, great air con.

NOTHING!! Only thing is a short Tuk Tuk from the town, but this really didn’t matter as they provide a free journey in and back each day. The location was that beautiful it didn’t matter

The room was huge and so nice. Everyone who works at the hotel is so lovely and the pool overlooking the lagoon is amazing, we even saw an elephant in it. One free tuk tuk a day is great too.

WOW - the location overlooking the lagoon with all the wildlife is mind blowing - arrived to see a herd of water buffalo, white breasted sea eagles, many other birds, monkeys, massive crocodile and to top it off a large male elephant just cruising along...then the room - stunning. and then the staff who could not do more for you, the FOH manager is just a wonderful human and the Chef - oh my god, dont wast your time going into the main drag - eat here every night, we made the mistake of not doing so one night and we were devastated, the food is absolute top class and we are self confessed foodies.

Very nice villas with beautiful view to the Laguna. Mr Milhan, was extremely helpful in organizing various things for us. There was maintance work going on, but it did not disturb us. Breakfast and dinner were served on our balcony.

No restaurant near by.

The place is very quiet and peacful. The rooms are big and the bed is very comfortable and the balcony view is great. The nature is in the hotel- all kinda of animals. Milan the manager is great and helpful, Fairoz took us to see elephents near the hotel. The shef has great menu. We enjoyed every moment there!!!! High recomend - one of the best places we visited!!!
