The rooms were five star, the pool overlooking the lagoon where you can see water buffalo grazing was special, and Fizane from the restaurant going above and beyond for all requests.

Friendly hotel staff, particularly the tuktuk driver who was very helpful coming to pick us up in the early hours after a certain football match that we 'had' to watch! View from the rooms and the pool is lovely, you can while away hours watching the wildlife or local fishermen. Arugum Bay beach was lovely, we spent a day relaxing there and enjoyed having a wander through Arugum Bay in the evenings enjoying different restaurants and shops.

The vanity unit in our bathroom (with sink on top of it) did not look safe - it was at a very strange angle and looked like it might fall off at any moment.

The hotel was beautiful with an incredible view over the lagoon , with storks and other birds. We were lucky to be able to see 2 elephants too. The staff were super friendly and helpful and as the hotel is a little way out of the hustle and bustle of Arugum Bay they offer a free tuc tuc journey once a day in.

Met by the most amazing manager Milhan! Don’t worry about the location as the road is almost completed and they arranged one free Tuk Tuk per day into town for our whole family and then you can message him for a return booking cost approximately 500-1000 depending on day/evening saving loads from the local Tuk Tuk try charge a lot more. Our Tuk Tuks were available within 5-10 minutes. Great directions to hotel with signs. This is probably one of the best locations we have stayed in with surrounding natural beauty and wildlife on the lagoon! Our rooms overlooked pool and lagoon. Would definitely stay again! Even though you’re not in heart of Arugum bay, the area can be noisy and you definitely will have a relaxed time here! Security even helped us gain access to our room late one night when we locked ourselves out. There’s also security box in reception if you need it. Great air con and duvets in room. Only handful rooms so book early to avoid disappointment

The breakfast was lovely excellent service but I’m not sure if they could do something about the flies (obviously because you’re right on the lagoon) which were constant. Maybe some electric or natural catchers. We missed breakfast one day as our son wanted to do some surfing, and they kindly delivered breakfast to our room for our other son

There are to many good words I could use to describe this extraordinary hotel. I will try to sum it all up in one review. When we first arrived in Oruwa, we directly felt a good and welcoming feeling of the hotel manager Milhan. He was kind and gave us an upgrade for our room. He was the main communication in the hotel, this communication works through WhatsApp and is very convenient. He was a top managers and we liked him a lot. The initial plan was to stay 4 nights in Oruwa, but after one day we decided to extend our stay to 12 nights. The best decision we made during our trip in Sri Lanka. The restaurant was very nice, with an amazing view over the lagoon. The chef, Ajith, is a very good cook and a very friendly man, the nasi goreng chef special is a must try! The menu is very good priced and there are some delicious dishes on it. Breakfast was included and was really nice, fruit, eggs, juice everything you like. The restaurant service was amazing, Fairoze is a lovely person and friendly. He loves making a chat with you and he is very polite. He helped us with giving the dogs food everyday, which was a lovely experience. The housekeeping was good as well, the rooms were very clean and they make up your room everyday if you want, thanks to Muheen, Seran and Rifnath. The beds are clean and the bathroom is good sized. It is exactly as you see on the pictures. Last but not least the Tuk tuk driver Seran, a lovely guy, who always has a smile on his face. He is a good driver, has good morals and is super friendly. He is the one who brings you to arugam bay at the time you want and is always ready to pick you up. We had a lot of fun with him. This hotel is the best choice in arugam bay. We heard that they will upgrade the hotel during off season, which will make it even better. Keep up the good work and we will definitely come back in the future.

The only thing that needs improvement is the wifi, it’s not that strong. But it’s a general problem in Arugam Bay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was a gorgeous property with stunning views. It was also very clean. The staff were top tier.

Difficult to get to from the main town.

The rooms are very nice, the pool is adjacent to the room but Make sure there isn't a large group using the pool because you won't have room

The rooms are very nice, the pool is adjacent to the room but unfortunately when we came there was a large group that was using the pool (without staying at the hotel) and we were not allowed to enter the pool as we had planned. The owner apologized but when the people left it was already late and we didn't enjoy the pool.
