Great location, nice views, nice pool

Room was not made if we didn’t ask for it, even though we were the only ones staying. Service a bit slow. Mold in bathroom. Staff needs more training for this price range.

Amazing location on the lagoon. We saw elephants and even some suspected crocodiles (which were aparently “friendly”…but don’t try making friends with them). A nice change from the pretty busy scene in Arugam Bay. The one free tuk tuk journey into town per day is handy. Staff were friendly, showers were hot.

The rubbish around the property (common in Sri Lanka.) I also did see a staff member taking some rubbish to the adjacent property. Wasn’t

We were at the hotel for four days, they welcomed us with a smoothie, the pool is not crowded and there is an intimate and private feeling, the staff is very kind and nice, we had Milhan phone number and he took care of us with any request immediately and he and the rest of the staff answered happily and helped us with the trip to the main street, the room is clean and tidy and the restaurant Very tasty in the hotel. We will definitely be back

The Sri Lankan rice and curry menu comes highly recommended and for good reason. The flavors were authentic and mouthwatering, thanks to the culinary skills of Chef Sahan. I found myself looking forward to each meal, eager to savor the delightful dishes prepared by him. I also want to extend my gratitude to the owner, Ishak, for his flexibility and commitment to ensuring a pleasant stay for guests. His personal touch and involvement in the management of the hotel add an extra layer of warmth to the overall experience. In conclusion, I can highly recommend Oruwa Villa Arugambay. New rooms, clean to a certain extent apart from the plethora of mosquitoes and other insects.

The back door in the room could not be locked as it was broken. After requesting the staff put a metal bar to prevent the door from being opened from outside but we did not feel very safe. They offered different rooms but it was very late. Many mosquitoes, they should take more care to put repellents to avoid the visitors from having to deal with them. They were inside the room, the nets, bed covers, everywhere. Meals were passable. Didn’t feel like they took care to make it a pleasant stay for us. Perhaps because it was off season.
