"Fair Weather Only!"

8.0

I would love to visit again when the weather is better. I will NOT be making a reservation, though! I made a reservation - for a single night - the day before arrival. Twelve hours later, there were Tornado Warnings throughout the area and I tried to cancel. The owner's cancellation policy has ZERO exceptions - even for issues of public safety, even when you book directly through the hotel. I was able to reach the destination after all (several hours behind planned arrival) and did enjoy the soaking tub in my room. Would love to re-visit one day IF they happen to have day-of-arrival availability.

How friendly and informative everyone was.

We made our stay too short, not anyone at Hale Houses fault.

"Nice Cozy Resturant"

8.0

My wife and I had a very romantic valentine’s day evening dinner there. I was a little skeptical about the location (an old renovated bathhouse) but I had read other reviews so I took a chance and I was not disappointed. It was rainy and cold outside but warm and cozy inside with scrumptiously prepared cuisine that fit the romantic ambiance. The server was a little bit slower but it was a busy night so we did not mind at all. Seafood was fresh and the steak was tender with slight marbling. The peach bread budding was spot on. We will dine here again soon.

"Excellent, would highly recommend."

10.0

The location is fabulous. It is next door to the brewery and the bath houses. Across the road from restaurant’s, bars and shops. The hot spring bath tub is wonderful. Being able to enjoy that in your hotel room is special. We purchased a bath bomb and enjoyed a relaxing bath with the benefits of the natural hot spring water. Bed was comfortable.

This was not an issue for us but keep in mind the hotel is an old bath house that has been renovated to a hotel so the floor boards are a bit noisy and other guests can be heard moving around but this was part of the charm of the hotel in my opinion and was worth it as everything about the hotel was in keeping with the style and era.

"Great hotel, but owners didn't speak, so big turn off for me: won't stay again ~"

8.0

The one main thing that kept it from being a 5 is the owners did not speak to us. They were in the restaurant the night we had dinner, but didn't speak, even though they came in several times. I also got change the next day, the man owner (who in doing my research I understand is the mayor of Hot Springs, Wow) brought me change, but again, didn't speak, or interreact. No 'How was your stay', 'Where are you from' 'Thanks for being here' Nothing. The wife spoke to someone she knew that night, but I did not see them interact with any others. It was a big turnoff for me. It's nice, small (9 rooms), loved that the spring water comes in to bath, it's available for drinking. Sully got our luggage and checked us in. Jennifer was there both mornings for breakfast. Both were super friendly and helpful. The Ooey Gooey Butter Cake was amazing. The man who waited on us in the restaurant for dinner (food was great) was helpful and friendly, but... We've traveled the world. 4 continents, 38 countries. We're about to do Australia and Asia (working on that trip now). Antarctica next year. We've stayed at the Ritz in Paris, Sacher in Vienna, Fairmont's in Banff and Monaco, Ritz Carlton in Budapest, Kempinski in Berchtesgaden, Julen in Zermatt, Hotel Pupp in Karlovy Vary, etc...The fact that they didn't even bother to speak was a big turn off and we won't stay again for that reason alone. There are other places where the springs come in so...

"Such a relaxing time."

10.0

The building is amazing. They left the old brick for charm on some walls. But the bathrooms are all new. The thermal water is beyond wonderful. We took several baths a day. So detoxing. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was very nice ! All of this ends up more economical than renting a regular room and going to the bathhouse twice. I can’t wait to go again.

"Ambience, and a great location. Your in room Fridge can be very useful for those special Needs."

10.0

breafast was good and fresh,

Breakfast whie good, does not provide a wide variety of choices, but I’ve gotten used to breakfast at home with avacado toast, using sliced artisan whole grain bread with a brush of Olive oil to make it crunchy in oven at 400 for 5 min, avacado spread in single tubs from Costco, and an egg over easy from the pan. But I’m a creature of habit, who had to update after health issues. Everybody has different tastes, and dietary needs - and the staff will microwave anything you bring…. To accomodate you. So really, this was a just solution for a boutique 9 room hotel, and not a major complaint….

"Nice location, a bit pricey for what you get"

8.0

The location is great, as it’s in the middle of bathhouse row in the center of the historic district of Hot Springs. We stayed in the Superior Room, which was comfortable and well appointed. Room comes with spring water in the fridge which you can replenish as much as you like from stocks downstairs, free cookies upon arrival, and you can take a soak in hot spring water in the bathtub in your own room (just be careful with the temp). Parking is via valet and costs about 25 a day, but was well worth it as parking in the area is limited.

Breakfast hours are very limited—only 8-9 weekdays and doesn’t start til 10 on weekends. There are no alternative options if you have to leave early as we did—we had to go eat at one of the local breakfast places even though we had paid for breakfast included. Breakfast was ok the day we had it, but it’s limited choice that you pick from a list the night before, not self service. Portions are fairly small so if you have a big appetite beware—you may still be hungry.
