The Bear Inn

We had dinner and it was delicious.

Surly and unfriendly (verging on rude) staff, apart from one man who was very courteous. We stayed in the self catering 'cottage' unit. It was fairly clean, bed comfy but not a place you'd wish to linger! Bathroom was damp, evidence of mould. We stayed in 3 places during our trip and the Bear was the most expensive (overpriced), the most unpleasant and the one that we would not return to. We couldn't wait to leave. Thank goodness the evening dinner was lovely but the waiting staff were so unpleasant, we decided not to eat breakfast there the next day.

The room was clean and tidy. Staff were very nice and the whole establishment was beautiful.

Could have used a mini fridge in the room and shower pressure was poor.

Location and patio. Cooked breakfast very nice.

Nothing really but as the owners explained, buildings that old attract dust! Unfortunately, bed looked lovely but was creaking with any little movement.

The food was awful I couldn’t eat it on both occasions I tried it it was really inedible Same as last time I visited Also cleanliness - lots of spiders dirty cutlery dirty toilet brush - needs attention to detail

We used thislocation as part of a three day walk with the dogs. The location fitted in well with our designated journey.

All was good. Better choice of beers.

I only ever eat a simple breakfast of toast and marmalade with coffee. It arrived within minutes of ordering it.

Staff were very attentive and kind to my disabled mother getting around inside the pub, and for this alone I would return. The cottage was small but comfortable and the view was lovely.
