Stadthotel Regensburg

The hotel was close to the town center, easy to locate, and relatively clean.

I was infuriated by the lack of communication from staff. We received a number to call when we arrived at the hotel, to receive a door code. We phoned 20 minutes before we arrived, and received no response. We waited 40 minutes in total, including at the building, before giving up. We had used both the number we were provided with, the number on booking.com and messages via booking.com. There was no response. In the end, we had to call booking.com themselves, who promised to reimburse us if the hotel could not be contacted. Shockingly, when Stadthotel Regensburg stood to lose money, they were capable of returning our calls and providing us with the door code. Had we not contacted booking.com, we doubt we would have received any response. The hotel was cheap, the rooms were clean enough. I would not have had any gripes for the price, had we not been left waiting in the cold with no clue of whether we could access the rooms. When accomodation is cheap, I expect the bare minimum, but they could not supply that.
