"The hotel itself was in a brilliant location — right on the beach opposite the pier and only a few minutes’ walk from the town. The hotel also had a large car park, which was really convenient and a huge plus. The public areas were grand and impressive, with some lovely Victorian features that gave the place a charming first impression.

The room, was a tad dated, there were no sockets by the bed and the choice of wallpaper colour gave it a nicotine‑stained, slightly grubby look, even though the room was very clean. I didn’t like the rubber mattress cover — I appreciated the mattress being protected, but a quilted one would have been much more comfortable. There was also an unpleasant smell that kept returning. Housekeeping did come and made it a bit better, but it didn’t stay away for long. Breakfast was very basic but edible, enough to get you going for the day.

Room a little tired

The location is excellent literally across the road from the beach and Pier. Shops are also nearby and the station not too much further.

It was quite warm in the communal area and bedrooms, although we did visit during a heatwave. In our bedroom we were lucky to have three windows facing the sea that opened about eight inches so did provide a welcome breeze. Other members of our party were not so lucky. There are however plug in fans in the bedrooms.

Cleanliness, location, staffs

Nothing to complain :) rooms are huge, they can easily put king size bed instead double bed. Double bed felt bit small either due to we are big or used to in King size at home.
