Great stay at the Kings Head. Good location & has lots of character. The room was spacious & comfortable, & the staff were really helpful. The breakfast was hot & tasty!!

The bed in room 2 is huge and so comfortable, the room is very big and not near the squeaky stairs. The meal was nice we had for lunch and the location is great for Thursford.

Large patch of mould or damp on the wall, really let's this room down, room 2. The room was freezing when we arrived and we turned the heating up. The toilet roll holder is missing off the wall and left on the side. I know this is a period building and old, it's what I like. However there is no excuse for lack of general maintenance and lack of attention to details in your rooms. Two very easily fixable little jobs, just left. The biggest disappointment was returning from the show at 10:15 pm the 6 of us, hungry and thirsty for a few drinks and a bottle to take too our rooms, only to find everything was closed, reception the bar and restaurant. Not a soul insight, so the front door was left open and unattended all night. Deliveroo do not cover this area, so no food or drinks. Really disappointing end to a fantastic evening. The website states 11pm, partly why we booked the hotel. Breakfast served until 9:30am.

Good value. Easy to find and get to. Good size clean room. Friendly staff, once we found them, and the pub looked great.

More of a pub with rooms. No one on reception when we arrived, so had to fight my way across crowded bar to find someone. I’m not sure if this is normal or just particularly busy in the build up to Christmas. We had the top floor family room, and the noise from the road all night meant we really couldn’t get a good nights sleep, despite the comfy beds. Heating was from electric heaters, which we struggled to get right, though not really the hotels fault.

The team were very welcoming, accommodating and friendly. The room was excellent: clean, plenty of space, homely and had an enormous bed. We had a great lunch at the hotel.
