The Sandringham Hotel

The Sandringham is an old school hotel in many ways. I've stayed here twice and it's certainly quirky. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are antiquated but have a certain charm. The amenities in the room are a bit lacking (only two small bars of soap, no shampoo, body wash, etc.) Incredibly central to most of what you'd do in Weston and very convenient.

The location.

Worst hotel we've ever stayed in.bed low, very soft an uncomfortable. No shower gel, No hairdryer. Window overlooking a brick wall, no Outlook what so ever, no air, no daylight. ROOM 210. When asked about booking breakfast was told not available unless we were on a coach, even though it was said on the email we could book breakfast at an extra cost. This was also the same for the evening meal. At £164.00 , thank goodness we only booked for 1 night. We are not people to complain but would never stay here again.

Location was great for where we needed to be. Booked way in advance for an event that was on to secure accommodation. Room was adequate for what we needed it for. Reception staff were friendly upon check-in.

Didn't come across anything we weren't particularly happy with. We didn't use any other facilities such as bar/dining as wd didn't need to.

Nice beach location

When we arrived at the hotel there was a can of special brew on the reception step waiting for us which although a thoughtful touch is not my particular tipple. The room was filthy and I’m pretty sure I could see the imprint of a girls head above the headboard. Walls were filthy in general. The carpets looked like someone dog had been rubbing its butt along it, for a year. The mattress was like sleeping on a row of slinky’s. And although the hotel states come and go as you please on here, the receptionist told us the door gets locked at 11pm and to get in we’d need to knock on for the porter to hopefully let us in. Oh they also make you give them your room key back when you go out, which is weird. I book regularly using this App and have never been to a hotel that is so far from what is advertised before. I normally only bother writing positive reviews, but felt this needed sharing, I’m pretty gobsmacked by the whole experience to be honest, In my opinion.

Had a great time. Hotel was on the front next to the pier. Friendly staff. Easy to check in. Nice bar in site and entertainment on most nights.

For the money to stay here, £150 per night based on two in a double, the standard of the hotel is very poor, the room was in poor condition, the bed really small and uncomfortable, the bathroom was a poor standard, the decor is decades out of date etc
