Gorgeous pool and location

This is a very peaceful, tranquil place with a huge pool and only 4 joglos so it never gets busy. The restaurant only serves breakfast but there is a great warung next door (Cookie's) which serves breakfast lunch and dinner, plus you are only a 10 minute walk from about 20 more restaurants, including the famous Sandy Bay Beach Club. The room was spotless, and very comfortable, and the polished dark wood interior has a real luxury feel. We stayed for 2 nights and the owner Wayan and his wife Dyah made us feel really welcome and totally at home.

Soap dispensers in the bathroom did not work.

A really nice villa, walking distance to dream beach, sunset beach and mushroom beach. Wayan was lovely. We went on an early morning snorkeling trip and she made us breakfast when we got back even though it was lunchtime! Really appreciated. I love that there are only 4 villas - meant the pool was never crowded. Couldn’t fault it, was really glad we chose to stay and would definitely return.

Pondooks Joglo is located within walking distance to Dream Beach and you can easily rent bikes to explore the rest of the island. If you don’t fancy leaving the grounds, there’s a lovely pool and private seating area outside the room where you can swim and spend the days. The lady who runs it was extremely helpful and organised our snorkelling tour and ferry back to the mainland which was great.

Unfortunately, I thought the bathroom was a little dirty as there was shower scum on the shower screen and a few marks on the wall, but wasn’t a big deal at all. The mosquito net around the bed was handy, although you could clearly see bugs on the roof of the net which took away from the room. On the final day the host kindly offered to book us a taxi from Sanur to Uluwatu, but we politely declined as we felt we could get a better deal on Grab. Although we never agreed to the taxi, the driver was waiting for us on arrival and assumed we were travelling in his car. After speaking with him and explaining we didn’t need the lift, he repeatedly told us how he’d come along way and that we were expected to go with him. We apologised and said we’d found alternative travel, but he persisted to follow us down the road and appeared to film us walking away which was unpleasant.

Great place, we loved it all. Thanks Wayan for everything and the unforgettable 7 nights. Beds the best. We will come back for sure.

Super friendly staff, nice and cozy villa. The swimming pool was clean and pretty large. We had a nice time.
