Quality Cabins Monteverde

They provided milk, orange juice, and eggs which was a nice treat. The cell service is not good in this area but the wifi was excellent. Sitting on the deck at night listening to the sounds of the cloud forest was wonderful. There was power for charging right by the beds.

The superior sale was impressive, with glass windows all around allowing a perfect view. The place was unique, very quiet and very special. There was some basic things to eat if you wish. The room was very big.

The water was kind of cold and there was no door for the toilet. The owner was not very communicative.

The interior of the cabins are as advertised. Our cabin was beautiful and very clean, and we really appreciated that they left us some food and drinks for free.

Over the two nights we stayed here, we killed three palm-sized spiders that we saw on the walls right before bed. If you’re really freaked out by spiders, I do not recommend booking here. The cabins also aren’t very well built. The shower head spayed water all over the bathroom and every time we flushed the toilet the kitchen sink started running and made a very loud noise. The ventilation in the cabin is poor, so the pillows and our clothes were just kind of damp the entire time. The cabin is also not as private as it looks in pictures. There are curtains on some of the windows, but if we were to have left them open we’d have been able to look directly at the neighbors.

The host was responsive and kitchen included some snacks upon arrival.

I feel it was advertised as more a cabin in the rainforest - which I suppose applies to most of the area (in the rainforest), but there was not a feeling of seclusion, you are still in a neighborhood with very loud dogs. (To be somewhat expected in the country with the stray population - but this was much more excessive than anywhere else we stayed.)

Not suitable for people who has arachnophobia due to it being in proximity to nature expect bugs and insects

Great location - nestled away. I think a must do experience staying in the jungle. if staying in Monteverde. We even spotted a toucan from our window in the morning. Really special experience. Host left a few breakfast options for us which we really appreciated.

Although a special and unique experience, it is better to do for a single night. It was hard to sleep due to noises of trees blowing against the roof. I didn’t mind a few bugs - part of being in Costa Rica - but be aware if you aren’t a fan. Everytime toilet flushed, it was quite loud.

Our host had provided for several complimentary base products (milk, sugar, eggs, coffee & tea, juices & beers...).

While the room has nice and huge window bays, there are only curtains for part of their surface

Absolutely nothing!

This was such a horrible experience.. We weren't even able to stay in the room for more than 5 minutes. The minute we entered the room there were already over 15 cockroaches crawling out of the holes in the walls and in the kitchen, not to even mention other bugs like spiders, moths, earwigs etc. We were fully aware that there would be bugs as we are in Costa Rica, but other hotels have their walls sealed properly to avoid having bugs in the room, this property should've done the same. In addition to the issue of bugs coming out of the walls, there was a cleanliness issue as there were spider webs and stains on the bed. We told the property manager that we were not able to stay with the amount of bugs in the room. He said his staff cleaned the room, and we said we are okay with the cleanliness of the room (although it wasnt clean, we were not primarily concerned about the cleanliness, rather about the bugs). The bugs were not just 2-3 in amount so we could kill them with our tools, they were rather coming out of the walls constantly. We explained this to the manager and that we dont want to stay in the room and expect a full refund and he sarcastically responded saying "welcome to the jungle" and refused to pay us a refund. The minute we said we want to cancel, he completely started ignoring us which he technically doesn't have the right to as we were still his guests. For context, we technically didnt cancel our booking for the entirety of the trip just so we can communicate with him about further details about cancellation with booking.com but he completely ignored us, which we found very irresponsible and rude. With such an unresponsive host and a place full of bugs, I wholeheartedly believe you should stay away from it because it will be a very risky choice to say the least…

Good location a short 5 min drive to town. Truly sleeping in the forest went to bed hearing the rain.

The cabin would benefit from a cheap dehumidifier in the cabin. I understand its the cloud forest and humid, but everything inside got moist, such as the couch to sit on, and our clothes we left on counter. We killed probably 8 spiders in our two nights staying there (but didn't get bitten at night or anything), not sure what they can do about that.
