Hotel Trópico Monteverde

The view was absolutely incredible! The restaurant at the hotel had delicious food too!

The view was spectacular love the sunsets being so close to the restaurant was a definite plus and the staff were fabulous

We liked everything about the property

Jose and his staff are wonderful; really make you feel welcome. Property is comprised of individual bungalows with porches all facing the lovely view and sunset. Breakfast is not included but is very reasonably priced for eggs cooked to order, juice, bacon and wonderful fruit. Very convenient to the Cloud Forest and Monteverde shopping and restaurants.

Road to get there from La Fortuna was an adventure; only paved part of the way and full of potholes. Because of its location it is very windy. Could only sit outside for awhile before feeling like we were going to blow away.

Nice, comfortable and spacious room with outside sitting area. Also outdoor seating areas with firepit.

It was super windy when we were so it was difficult to sleep at night due to wind and sound. Was told the wind is normal for that time of year so really nothing could be done.

There is only a few rooms which was very nice. The rooms were well decorated, spacious and comfortable. Every room has a great view. The owner is very nice and works hard to maintain it. The restaurant attached is very good.

Jose on reception was so helpful, found us a guide for one of the reserves at very short notice which was a highlight of our whole trip

The hotel has amazing views and thus is very exposed to the winds, make sure you pack ear plugs, we didn’t sleep the first night without them. I sensed a slight lack of attention to detail, they forgot the towels one day, the creamers for the coffee in the room were ALL solid (how old must they be?) and the margarine portions at breakfast expired in Sept 24.

We had a beautiful room. There was a beautiful view right outside our lodge. Unfortunately, we had quite a bit of rain, but that was not the fault of the hotel.

It was more beautiful than the pictures even show. The view was amazing. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was great, organizing all of our excursions. Would highly recommend.
