Little Lochan Lodge

This was our second stay during our trip through Scotland and it was by far our most favourite one. We definitely will be staying here again if (when) we go back to Scotland. The main lodge was incredibly cosy with a very comfortable bed and fireplace (which the host showed us how to use) which we appreciated doubly so when one morning we woke up to heavy rain that lasted a few hours. Outside the lodge is a hut with a well stocked kitchen, a shower, and an eco toilet. We loved that there was a variety of cooking appliances to use so we did not need to go out for dinner every day. The lodge is relatively secluded as you have to go offroad to get to it which meant it was wonderfully quiet except for the sheep in the surrounding fields which really did add to the ambience. The hosts themselves were also very welcoming and kind and helped make our stay incredible. All in all this was an incredible stay which we cannot wait to return to.

When it rains or it is the middle of the night keep in mind that you have to leave the cosy and warm lodge to head to the toilet. Same thing with cooking, we were there in the summer and ate quite late so a jumper was a necessity.

The views are lovely, very peaceful and quiet. The lodge was clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others who were looking for a relaxing break.

The lodge was impeccably clean and well presented and in the most beautiful setting. The log fire kept us toasty warm at night and Alastair and Hazel were the BEST hosts 😀 we loved the peace and tranquility and being surrounded by nature. It was great to have kitchen facilities too.

There is nothing not to like about Little Lochan Lodge. The compost toilet was different but again was impeccably clean. It is fairly remote if you want to go out in the evening and not drive, but we managed to find a taxi to take us into nearby Dunning for a lovely pub meal and back again.

We loved the peace and tranquillity, the feeling of getting away from it all yet so close to amenities !! So much care and attention has gone into equipping the pod which is immaculate… very much appreciated.

If you want peace and quiet relaxation then stay here. The views are to die for and the owners were so wonderful and friendly. Lots of paths to wander and a lake with swans. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had everything we needed. No WiFi and patchy phone signal, but it depends what you want and it really didn't matter to us, we loved it here.
