Hotel Cordelia's

Staff on front desk very attentive. Shout out to Carlos. Clean hotel but floor one dated and no amenities such as wall safe, coffee maker or refrigerator. Floor two might be better. Beach Playa Panteon area is nice for swimming (small surf if any) and has some snorkeling. Busy in the afternoon with bus tourists but quiet morning and in the evenings. Short cut along rock path to Playa Principal in Puerto Angel. Lots of fishing boats to watch going in and out of the bay. (Cafe 27 in Puerto Angel, near the pier has wonderful Baguettes and hamburgers.)

Regrettable incident in the hotel restaurant. We were over charged for a Margarita as well as an attempted short change. In menu 80 pesos, charged 160 pesos. Waiter tried to indicate we had the large size. Not convinced we approached the woman in charge and explained the situation as best we could requesting clarification. We clarified there is only one size of margarita on the menu. We do not speak Spanish but when she understood she was visibly upset with the waiter. We were returned the money (which was not the point, and was all in small change) No attempt to make up for our bad experience by the restaurant owners or even to apologize.

Air conditioning worked well.

No coffee until 8:00am and it wasn’t free. Some kind of construction noise every day at 07:30. Floor from bathroom to bed very tricky with two steps. Also very slippery.

Very spacious three-bed-room with wonderful view to the pacific. Friendly staff.

Parking is possible, but (depending on the business in the downstairs restaurant) maybe only on the street. The village around seems a bit rundown compared to the ones only some km further west.

Staff, Breakfast, location was really good!

The hotel location was great, directly on the beach. The room was clean, spacious, great hot water, great view from top floor room, sunrise streams through the big windows, beds were comfortable, large bathroom, enough storage space for luggage. There was A/C but it struggled to keep the room cool. It was still better than none. It would help if they had blackout curtains so the heat from the sun didn't come in. The wi-fi was OK. We really liked the style of the hotel with large tiled Mexican style floors.

The small restaurant under the palapa which is part of the hotel had the slowest service I've ever experience. We think they didn't want to serve us at all. We went there daily for the 5 days we were there but it got worse as time went on. Waiting over an hour to order after looking around for staff and making eye contact but they just wouldn't serve us. I had to get up and go ask the man running the place anytime I wanted something and he just pointed to the girl who worked there. I saw him serving the other tables and taking orders. She was sick and coughed openly every time she put food/drinks on our table. We ended up getting head colds by the time we left. We tried to spend more money there but they made it very hard. It felt a bit discriminating and unwelcoming. It reflected poorly on the hotel. We ended up going to a different restaurant the last day. We had had enough.

It's right on the beach, has a fantastic rooftop terrace, friendly staff, big room. Amazing, I loved this place.

Lovely little hotel right on the beach. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean - with a ventilator and an air conditioner, which was great. We also had a lovely sea view as a bonus. The beach is good: this side of the bay is separated from the other part with some rocks and that creates rather calm waters - good for swimming, particularly with kids. We have seen many people with dogs on the beach - not sure they were staying at the same hotel, but it looks like the whole area is pet-friendly.

Our mattress was rather hard, whilst the kids' one was soft: I know it's hard to suit all, but there are some quality mattresses that adopt the shape of the body and ensure a better night's sleep. Also, the bathroom was rather basic/rustic type - we were all right with it, but some people may have higher expectations.
