The lodge at Carlton tavern free parking

We were visiting friends. So good value accommodation with parking within walking distance of the town. Also very quiet position.

The room was basic but fine.

Parking was our biggest need and close enough to walk into the city, so that was the biggest plus. 30-40 minutes into the city area. Just a short stroll to a small shopping centre and the best thing was the pub for good meals and a drink.

It was an upstairs room with squeaky floorboards and reminded me of ghost stories as a kid but apart from that it was a comfortable bed and nice and clean.

The quiet area away from the bar. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Ideal location for exploring York and surrounding areas.

Peaceful location, fridge in room and easy access to city centre.

Bed too small for 6ft 2 inch person.

Guy checking me in at the bar was helpful and friendly. Location to York racecourse was great. Free parking good.

Communal Door to the property was very loud so when other guests open/closed it, was very noisy. Could hear a lot of noise from other rooms. Food from the restaurant was not nice.
