Lodge am Krippenstein

The view was beautiful.

This lodge is a 3 hour uphill walk or can only be reached by tram which has limited hours. I wish that this information was more front and center. We arrived after 7:00 and couldn't reach the lodge. Both Apple and Google maps showed driving was available to the lodge. They fid refund us 13 euros of the 350 Euros for our room that we did not stay in.

The location is absolutely amazing! On the top of the mountain, just beside the cable car. The view from the rooms, the restaurant and the sun terrace is wonderful. A few minutes’ walk away there is the perfect spot to marvel at the sunset and sunrise. Great starting point for hiking routes and via ferratas. The food is very good by all standards - even the choice for breakfast is good - there are fresh fruit and veggies. The staff is super friendly.

The accommodation is pricey - but considering the breathtaking, out-of-this-world location it is worthwhile!

Amazing room, friendly and helpful staff.

Could do with a little bottled drinks fridge in reception to take out with you for the day. Would be good for when walking around as there are no other shops or facilities up there. Restaurant menu a bit limited but tasty food.

Great place with an outstanding view of the Dachstein gletscher, run by very friendly family and their staff. The accommodation is rather simple but very clean and with all the necessary facilities.
