Elm Escapes

Great location. Very quiet area . We had the lodge next to the river which was lovely . This gave us a lot of privacy which we went for. Hot tub was amazing though we could not use it until the following day as it had been cleaned on the day of arrival and it took awhile for it to heat up. But not a problem.

The only downside was we did not have a sauna in this lodge which i though we had. I read the advert as having a sauna?

The property exceded my cleanlienes expectations, it says they allow dogs but you wouldnt know, didnt see 1 dog hair the whole time we stayed, the property was throughly cleaned, it has amazing facilities, and is alot bigger and nicer than it looks in the photos, the staff are very friendly and easy to deal with,

The bed and pillows was a little bit stiff but thats just personal prefrence, other than that it was an amzing 10/10 experience

We loved absolutely everything about this place! We honestly could not fault any part of this break, it seemed quite sureal coming from city life to countryside. The Lodge is what made our stay and the best part the children loved the hot tub!

There isn't nothing not to like it honestly was perfect

It felt very luxurious, especially with the sauna and hot tub. There was lots of information about things to do in the local area, even though they were 30 minutes+ drive away, felt very private with peaceful surroundings, entire place was very clean, would definitely visit again

The house itself was beautiful and peaceful

It was advertised as having a hot tub yet a few days after booking we got told the hot tub wouldn't be available on arrival but would be finished before we left. However this didn't happen, it was still being fixed after the 3 days we spent there. Throughtout these 3 days we asked for updates and kept getting told itll be ready for tomorrow. We got woken up in the middle of the night for 2 days while these repairs were being fixed. We also weren't aware that it was a difficult walk to the train station which made it difficult for me as I have asthma. We knew how far it was but not the route. This meant we were stuck inside the house for 3 days with nothing to do. The train station was also difficult to find as it was behind what looked like people's houses, so we struggled thinking we were tresspassing on someone's property.

The lodge did not have basic essentials for cooking which was disappointing as we did not bring these things, and there was not a big local shop nearby.
