"Really nice hotel in a slice of paradise beach"

9.0

We loved the view from our balcony and the small but cute pool area. The breakfast was simple but good, and the room was spotless. The bed was firm and we slept soundly every night. Great location.

The road is close, and you can hear traffic in the morning, but it wasn't a big issue, since most days we were out of the room early.

"Beautiful view, great location but it’s expensive and no drinks or food by the pool."

Beautiful view and the rooms were a little luxurious

The hotel only served breakfast and the added tax on arrival

"Fantastic"

9.0

The location was fantastic high enough to have a great view of the beach and ocean but just a short distance on foot to the beach. Many good restaurants are nearby as well as a convenience store. The room istself is great with a lovely balcony, beautiful louver screen doors on the outside and glass slider doors inside for when the A/C is on. Those doors were constructed so well that it was as if they were not there. No obstruction of view. Ideal.

San Augustinillo is set at the base of a hill with a very narrow strip of flat land along the beach. Most buildings and this hotel are on the hillside. This makes for great views but also many stairs, not all of which have railings. If stairs are a problem, be sure to ask for a room on the parking level. The hotel is right on the coast road through town and even though the hotel rooms are above the road, the noise is still present. For the most part, it was not continuous or disturbing - big trucks and many motorcycles being the most noticible - and the sound of the waves was still audible, especially at night.

Had such an amazing stay at Casa la Ola. The room and facilities exceeded our expectations. The staff were so helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Pool was great and the beach is only a 3 minute walk across the road. Plenty of nearby restaurants and shops either in San agustinillo or a quick walk over the hill in Mazunte. We hope to return soon! Muchas gracias a todos

"Would stay again"

9.0

Lovely boutique hotel in a great location. Close proximity to the beach and village of San Augustinillo (2-5 minute walk). 15 minute walk to Mazunte. The staff are friendly and attentive. Breakfast is great. Clean, stylish rooms with hooks to hang clothes and tables and shelving to keep belongings off the floor (something many hotels lack). Incredible view and enjoyable pool area. The architecture and layout of the property is very interesting...lots of stairs so you get a small workout going in and out.

There's no door to the bathroom (which we've encountered at other hotels in Mexico). It's not a deal breaker but something to consider, depending on who you're traveling with. The rooms are very nice and windows have these beautiful wood shutters, however if you use air conditioning you can't open the shutters to have natural sunlight as they are what seal the windows. Not a big deal and allowed us to take cool naps in the PM in the dark, but something to note. There are lots of stairs, so you get a small workout going in and out.
