The Temple II, Mindo

Very economic stay in the cloud forest with cozy cabin vibes. Good security that included a remote for the gated entrance from the road. Yummy, made to order breakfast in the dining area. Great songbirds in the morning!

There was some odd wiring on the showerhead - unsure what its purpose was but it did not heat the chilly water. When we checked in, we were made aware that there would be a charge for the bottle of wine. After we checked out, we were told that we owed $3.50 for a bottle of water. We were not made aware of this when we checked in and we had no idea which one it was as we had several different brands of drinking water with us. This was approximately double the charge that the local store was charging. I paid the fee through PayPal as they requested, but they did not sign in to collect it.

The room we were allocated was large. The bathroom was also a good size. It was very clean. There was good hot water and water pressure. The staff were excellent. The hotel is a little out of the town, but this adds to the charm of the place. You feel like you're in the jungle. At the time of our stay there were no bugs. I would stay here again. I definitely recommend it to this who visit Mindo...so long as you don't mind a 10 min walk to town. I think it's worth the effort.

The nature around is amazing. You hear the river, rain and forest sounds during the night. It is also very cozy, the rooms are large, bed is comfortable.

Curtains/windows might not cover what is inside the rooms, so bathrooms and room itself might not be very private. Also my toilet had a water leak.

Very nice clean and comfortable room. Great service.

No soap for the shower.

1. Near the river, very lulling sound. 2. Deisy was very nice and kind. 3. Ambience and location really encourage relaxation and change of scene.

The fact that there is no disposable food if needed.

The bedroom was huge and the garden setting was lush and beautiful. The hammocks on the balcony were nice.

There are no staff on site so there were a few little hassles, like having to text back and forth about our exact arrival time and getting stuck inside the complex when our security gate buzzer ran out of batteries. The breakfast was pretty disappointing. It was advertised as croissant, cheese, eggs, jam, fruit, juice, tea and coffee but it was actually just black coffee, one piece of toast with no butter and eggs. We stayed for three nights and the room was never cleaned - toilet bin got pretty full 😬 We ended up loving Mindo and staying an extra night but changed accommodation.

Everything was perfect! The staff were exceptional!
