Lorenso Cottage

Lorenso is a very caring host, though the accommodation is very basic. Snorkelling right at the house reef. Food freshly cooked for you by nice staff.

Incredible place with wonderful food and a direct access to the best snorkeling localisation. Host and the team are sweet, attentive, and friendly.

Lorenso, the owner, truly shows what hospitality is all about. He’s friendly, welcoming, and always ready to offer very good advice. Thank you for making us feel like family! The place is cozy and full of charm, right in front of the best snorkeling spot on the island. Lorenso & CO’s warmth makes you feel at home. In addition, he showcases the Bunaken culture through his music every night at the Bunaken café. The location was really beautiful. Right next to the beach and mangroves, the best snorkeling spot on Brunken Islands is right on the doorstep. We saw everything from giant turtles to rays, octopus and sharks. It's also very quiet as it's the last in the row of resorts. Lorenzo and his team are really lovely and hard-working people - we quickly felt part of the family and learned an incredible amount about the culture. The food was really plentiful and great, even if there wasn't much variety. But fish/chicken and plenty of tofu and vegetables every day. Lorenso also loves playing the ukulele :-)

Unfortunately the rooms were rather dirty, there was neither shower toilet paper nor toilet paper nor a garbage can.

Awesome location, right on the beach surrounded my Mangrove. Lorenso’s cottage is so full of charm unrivalled my it’s neighbours. Lorenso himself is THE MAN of the island, if you’re looking to go diving, Lorenso’s uncle is the go to, if your looking for a bar Lorenso’s cousin knows, if you’re looking to remove a body, Lorenso knows someone. Lorenso himself (aka ‘Papa’) is well established in the No. 1 band in Bunaken soon to hit the international charts. Furthermore Lorenso is just an all round good bloke, gave me a cig when I was out, sorted transport for us, gave me his lighter when I lost mine, set up my friend with some French ladies (to no avail) and treated us like family.

Great snorkeling at your doorstep. Large basic rooms overlooking a flat grassed area. Great meals catering to your dietary needs. Good quiet location. Calm clean water for snorkeling.

All was basic but fine.

As a solo traveller, the attitude of the staff means more than anything. Lorenso, the owner and Bunaken local, felt like home from the first moment we met. Also, the location of the cottage is OUTSTANDING, exceeded my expectations:) You have your own private mangrove beach and private coral reef just outside. Just wow! The all included food was spectacular too! The rooms are big in size too :)

Location was great as it was only a few hundred metres from our dive centre two fish divers so able to make the journey by foot each day. Lorenso was very hospitable and made an effort to connect with us on a personal level and made us feel like family during our stay House reef was beautiful and well preserved with crazy biodiversity right at your doorstep. I would recommend bringing your own snorkel gear since hiring is around €5 a day Id recommend you bring small portable fan to put inside your mosquito net since the outside fans provided sometimes dont cool you enough if not used to the hot climate

Protein quantity inconsistent. Sometimes a good amount of fish however on occasion would have small amount of fish for the guests but this is probably purely due to how much they catch in the day so no complaints. Didnt go hungry

This is full board accommodation. The breakfast was generally good for the price. The location was excellent for snorkelling in my case.

Still some work needed on some of the facilities. But for the price it is okay. Unfortunately a volcanic eruptions about 100 kms away meant ash fallout.

The place is a bit out of town surrounded by nature and very quiet. The bungalows are pretty big , have a seating area in front looking into the garden. The snorkeling right in front of the property is really good. The food is also pretty good and the owner Lorenzo is very friendly. He can also arrange boat trips etc. He just build a new restaurant and is working on more repairs.

The bungalows need some repairs and the towels were not very clean. Sometimes the electricity is gone, but i think that is a thing on the whole island. All together; ok stay, but a bit rough around the edges.
