The accommodation was great - clean, cosy, bright and well-stocked. Nigel was so welcoming and friendly and gave us a lift to and from the pub where we had dinner. Breakfast was served in our room and was yummy 😋 Would highly recommend.

The personal touch, they came and checked in on me, offered to drive me to the pub for dinner and specially made me a coeliac friendly breakfast and then advised me where I could eat along the trail for the remainder of my journey.

The only slight criticism was that there wasn’t very much space to hang your clothes. There were at least four coat hooks, so if you’ve got coat hangers that’s great. Would be helpful to have a couple of coathangers knocking about, but I must admit we didn’t ask.

Nigel was very helpful, drove me to the pub for dinner and collected me afterwards and to the railway station the next day. The pod was exceptionally clean and welcoming with all hot drinks and fresh milk, biscuits and cereal provided and perfect poached eggs in the morning.

The room was cozy and well furnished, especially for hikers. Nigel was very kind, obliging and we enjoyed chatting with him. He gave us a warm welcome, as well as many indications on where to go for dinner and what to see nearby. The breakfast was very tasty.

The location is really convenient as the lodges are located only a few minutes from the Hadrian wall path. However the small downside is that there are not so many dinner options close by. It is worth noting when planning your trip if you don't have a car. You can go to the Greenhead Hotel restaurant where the food is very nice, but you should secure your table by booking beforehand. It will take you 15 minutes to walk there. Fortunately you don't have to walk by the main road, nor do you have to walk in muddy hiking trails: you can follow a cycling path. Make sure you have (phone) flashlights with you if you plan to come back at night as there are no lighting along the cycling path.
