Friendly welcome from the hosts who make time to chat Lovely breakfast and dinners. Evening menu changes each night . So much more convenient and relaxing dining in house in my opinion. Clean rooms too.

Lovely breakfast, nice hosts. Beautiful and peaceful area.

The location was very picturesque, tranquil & peaceful. Our room was just perfect with a sitting room, bedroom & shower room. Adequate storage, fridge & tea making facilities, tastefully decorated & clean. Our hosts were the nicest people, great service at meal times & the food amazing. We chose to have the evening meals & so pleased we did as change of menu each night, good variety & choices & superbly cooked with great presentation. Would go back to stay tomorrow would definitely recommend Butt Lodge has everything.

Location, friendly hosts, quiet

We loved everything about our stay at Butt Lodge; if you are thinking of booking, do it! Cath & Mac were exceptional hosts, we really can’t thank them enough for their hospitality. They both made us feel welcome and relaxed despite travelling with a young baby. Mac is an outstanding chef and we thoroughly enjoyed both breakfast and dinner there every day. Cath is a warm, friendly host who makes you feel comfortable. We couldn’t recommend a stay a Butt Lodge more.

Pretty location. Very clean rooms and bathrooms.

Breakfast room needs modernising and real butter needs to be served as opposed to 'spread' in the butter dishes.

The food was great! On most nights, there is an option to pre-book an evening meal. The choice was very good and the standard of cooking was excellent for a property of this size. Mac, the chef, was very mindful of allergies if notified in advance. In addition, you could bring your own wine/beer, so this kept the cost down. Breakfast was very good, too. The owners of the lodge are trying to be more eco-friendly. This meant that rather than little sachets of milk in the tea tray, fresh milk was provided daily. Also, there was a place to put recyclables, homemade marmalade was served in little reused jars, butter was provided in little pots, and lots of thought had gone into finding ways to reduce waste. We really liked that! The room is not serviced daily unless specifically requested - once again to reduce waste - and we liked the fact that no-one had been in, moving everything around! The garden was a lovely place to sit on a sunny day. Cath and Mac were great hosts.
