"Very nice and relaxing"

7.0

Beautiful place very relaxing

There was very little wood and kindling for the hot tub so could not get it working, this was a shame as we were looking forward to doing that.

"beautiful location with hot tub, barbecue and animals - whats not to like?!"

8.0

The location was beautiful and peaceful and the owner was friendly and helpful. The opportunity to use the hot tub was great and the shepherds hut comes with fab barbecue facilities

The shower is a little feeble and unreliable, temperature wise, but overall our stay was lovely

"Great Locattion, relaxing stay and loverly to be surrounded by all the animals."

10.0

The Shepard’s hut with the hot tub was amazing, once the hot tub was lit and eventually warmed up it was great to get into and relax. The property was very welcoming. The chickens, cockerel, ducks and other animals were a loverly addition to wake up to in the morning they are very friendly. I would advise anyone staying to bring some cash to purchase these loverly animals feed and also for any spare logs you may need to keep the hot tub ticking over. These can all be purchased for cash which was great we spent money on feed for the loverly chickens, and for a few extra logs for the hot tub. The hut itself was a brilliant and quirky little retreat and at the price of a hotel room for 2 nights made a great change with extras you wouldn’t see in many if at all in local hotels. All in all worth every Penny and great location Hay-on-Wye just down the road was a brilliant town to visit and has some great pubs.

My only issue was it was advertised on booking.com as including towels and this was not the case, the host politely explained her reasons why and sourced us some towels so handled very promptly and professionally. Judy might need removing as advertised with Towels on Booking.com to avert any future issues. Only other small picky thing would be the little touches like the blinds having a better fixing when trying to take to em down and up. But not a huge issue.

"Would definitely recommend!"

9.0

We booked this hut for our anniversary for a nice little getaway with no one around and this place delivered. It was such a lovely place and we really enjoyed our time here. The bed was comfortable and cosy as well as the tv placement and the opportunity for youtube and netflix on it. The hot tub was easy to use as we followed the instructions, only used one and half bags of the wood from the shop on the property and half a bag of kindling. We then used the fire pit and roasted marshmallows while watching bats fly around which was the perfect end to our evening. We were free to see the animals on the property and even played with the ducks with the hose pipe. When we arrived the bed was made up for our anniversary which we thought was a lovely touch! Would definitely stay here again!

One thing that we think could be improved is having a bin inside the lodge, just a small one as it would be handy. However, we may have missed it if there was one there.

"Good location for what we wanted, very off grid!"

7.0

Brilliant hot tub! Never stayed anywhere with one before, and very impressed. Bed comfortable, and the lodge was relatively cool considering we arrived on the hottest day of the year!

The outdoor shower was out of order, but I’m not sure I’d have wanted to share a shower with brambles above my head- they just need cutting back. Towels would have been useful but I think that was an oversight as they’d been an emergency maintenance issue
