Sigiri Lake Paradise

What a fantastic place to stay in Sigiriya - our favorite accommodation from all 3 weeks in Sri Lanka! The family is so open and friendly. The room was amazing, with beautiful glass windows that offer great views of nature. The food was brilliant and we ate both breakfast and dinner there. We went for long walks around the beautiful neighboring farm roads. Overall a brilliant experience!

Amazing location on the lake. Beautiful view. Very clean & friendly family who can’t do enough for you. We were very well looked after. The food was great, especially the home cooked Sri Lankan dinner! We were very pleased!

Was hard to get a tuk tuk at times, but most of the time chamika (the son of the family) could take us places in his tuk tuk.

We stayed for two nights and had a truly wonderful experience. The family welcomed us with incredible warmth and hospitality, making us feel completely at home from the very beginning. The room was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. Their son, Chamee, kindly took us to visit both Pidurangala and Sigiriya — it was an unforgettable experience, perfectly organized. We also had the chance to join a fantastic cooking class with Kumani - the mother -, where we learned a lot and had so much fun. Everything was simply perfect. Highly recommended — thank you for making our stay so special!

Chamika, Kumari and the whole family were the best hosts ever. They were so friendly and helpful and the whole place felt like home. The room is beautiful with a perfect view of the lake with glass windows. Also, they have the sweetest dogs and cat. We only stayed two night but wish we could have stayed longer, it was the perfect end to our trip and if ever coming back to Sri Lanka, we’ll definitely come back and will recommend it to all our friends. Chamika went up with us to Pidurangala rock for sunrise , and even got us a cup of coffe while watching the sun rise. We also went on a safari and saw a baby elephant and he showed us a beautiful lake not far from the accommodation. We also had an amazing breakfast every morning and Kumari cooked a really nice Sri Lankan curry for us one evening. They even invited us to come to their friends place for dinner and it was the greatest experience to get to know all those beautiful people. We cannot recommend this place enough, it was perfect and such a calm and relaxing place to stay!😊

Quelle expérience incroyable nous avons vécue grâce à Chamika et à ses parents! Nous vous recommandons très fortement de séjourner au Sigiri Lake Paradise, notamment dans la chambre entièrement vitrée qui vous permettra d'avoir une vue imprenable sur le Rocher du Lion. Au-delà de la vue dégagée, la chambre est spacieuse, équipée d'un grand lit que nous avons trouvé très confortable ainsi que d'une douche qui vous permettra d'avoir de l'eau chaude (ce qui n'est pas fréquent pour le Sri Lanka!). La famille nous a réservé un accueil mémorable avec un goûter qui nous a été servi. Vous pourrez également prendre le petit déjeuner servi en haut du rocher. La maison est un petit peu isolée mais on peut se rendre dans le centre de Sigiraya en tuk-tuk en 15 minutes. Attention cependant si vous comptez venir avec votre véhicule, la route est endommagée et n'est pas bétonnée (ça secoue!). L'avantage que nous y avons trouvé : vous pouvez faire de longues promenades dans la nature luxuriante avec une diversité d'espèces à observer de près. Si vous souhaitez en découvrir plus sur la culture locale, la famille propose de donner un cours de cuisine suivi d'un repas traditionnel (probablement le meilleur de notre séjour au Sri Lanka!). En bref, ce court séjour de 2 jours, nous aura permis de créer des souvenirs qui resteront gravés dans nos têtes et nous reviendrons sans hésiter !

Tout était parfait !

What is not to like. The scenery and grounds were so tranquil. The perfect getaway to relax and unwind off the beaten track. Including the most wonderful hosts. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast and all were incredible and we wish we could have again. The room and setting are beautiful, all the glass windows next to the rock, looking at the lake and lion rock, perfect for catching sunrise and eating breakfast. The room even comes with your very own security guard (Tani the dog). The family are so helpful and we loved all the dogs, and can't forget the cat, or the peacocks. We just wished we could have stayed longer. We will return if we visit Sri Lanka again. Thank you so much!!!

Un lieu paisible dans un bel environnement et un bel accueil

Het was een geweldig verblijf. De locatie is super mooi. Het is een beetje afgelegen, maar de familie wilt je graag wegbrengen. Ze zijn erg behulpzaam en lief. Voor een klein prijsje mag je mee eten en kregen we zelfs een kookworkshop. De zoon heeft ons meegenomen op een prachtige wandeling met een super mooi uitzichtpunt. Aldus prachtig verblijf, super lieve mensen en heerlijke plek om te verbljjven!

Het enige was dat het een beetje afgelegen was

We recently visited Sigiri Lake Paradise. The host had ensured that a driver would pick us up from the airport as we arrived at 03:00 am. The drive itself took 2-2,5 hour and once we arrived we were served with tea and coffee, even though that the check-in time at the homestay, was at 11:00. We went up to the rock next to the house and saw this amazing sunrise. We are very grateful for the assistance we received from the owners. The breakfast was great and included both fresh fruits and local breakfast cuisines. Every night we ate dinner at the homestay, which we highly recommend. We were fortunate enough to help prepare a traditional Sri Lankan dinner, which also was a great experience. The family helped us getting to attractions such as Lion Rock and the Golden Cave temple. They were also a great help with regards to arranging a safari tour. Though it’s a bit far from the main road, we had no trouble walking the 2.5 km or getting transportation from the family. Overall, we were very happy at Sigiri Lake Paradise and wholeheartedly recommend it.
