Udawatta Kele (UK) Forest Lodge

The facilities in the room and bathroom were nice. However, the location required climbing a very long staircase. Once you reach the top, you will see a house, and your accommodation is located behind it. If you are staying in the last room, remember to wait for 15 minutes for hot water and turn the faucet to the right (which is different from the usual understanding of turning it to the left for hot water). The staff were friendly and enjoyable to chat with. However, on the day we checked in late, they thought we weren't coming and it was raining heavily that night, which made it a bit difficult for us. The breakfast was very rich, and the distance to the temple was not too far to walk.

There’s an extremely tricky stairway to climb in order to reach the property. I was not informed about that and we had to climb it up at night with all our luggage, with no help. the whole place needs a good clean.. toilets were dirty and dusty, with hair stuck on the shower drain, ants, spiders & cockroaches everywhere.. mattress smelled like mold and bedsheets were dirty/ stained. not happy :(

The linen is not very clean, meaning there are quite a few old spots left after washing.

Just the best people you can find in Sri Lanka. comfortable room, well equipped, amazing local breakfast surrounded by monkeys(there's protection around you) all around, an amazing opportunity at a very fair price. ❤️

You're in the jungle, be prepared for the eventual spider or ants lurking around, but that's everywhere in this region 🤷‍♂️

Due to the fact that there are currently very few tourists staying there, the room was not clean. Staff was not informed that we had a reservation and we had to ask them to clean up. It was still not clean after that.
