Altitude Nozawa

Fantastic location & very relaxed vibe. Can walk right to a chair lift & ski down to the main area of the mountain. The staff run free shuttles to the main mountain & also to the town of an evening.

Breakfast options were very minimal.

The hotel was fine, the free washing machine was good.

The shuttle service at night is not late enough as it’s a fair walk in slippery conditions!

Our room was big by Japan standards with lots of room to put cases and ski bags out of the way. (A kettle would have been nice and you only were given two pillows so had to ask for more). The drying room is terrific and easy to access to get ski boots on in the morning. The ski shuttle to the resort also good but there needed to be some other time slots for convenience. Staff very accommodating when you asked for something.

The breakfast was a disgrace. It was like a poor hotel breakfast experience with stingy portions to say the least. The staff while getting through tasks adequately looked completely out of their depth. It was like you left the teenagers to run it and felt like you were staying at a backpackers lodge. If you got the right person you got some helpful information but it was like no one really took the time to learn anything about the township. The evening shuttle bus back to the hotel stopped at 8.30 so you really had to eat and run which would not ordinarily be a problem as the walk is not extraordinarily far, but with heavy snow it was dangerous. Rarely did a day go by when someone did not fall over in the driveway.

The location was ok, it was within walking distance of a chairlift/ticket office. The place was budget-friendly so that was a plus, and the breakfast was just ok.

The rooms were very small; the carpet was badly stained and quite grotty and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The location was too far away from the village to easily walk there and back.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice big dining room downstairs to hang out with family and friends. We caught the hotel shuttle to Nagasaka Gondola parking lot, and if we missed it, the free one is next to the hotel.

A bit of a trek back out to the restaurants if we came back to the hotel first from a day on the slopes, and the hotel doesn't have dinner service.

Hot cooked breakfast every morning. Free pick up and drop off to bus terminal on day of arrival and departure. Also every morning shuttle to ski slope and evening shuttle to town. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
