Altitude Nozawa

Accommodating in all ways Plenty of food for breakfast. Large drying room. Excellent shuttle to the gondola, town centre as well as pick up on arrival and drop off at the main bus stop on departure. Good spacious common areas. Very accessible on the free bus route to and from the gondola. Close to town from my perspective.

One clothes washing machine and dryer only.

Location was a lot better than expected. They provided a shuttle to the Nagasaka in the mornings, it was also opposite the village shuttle bus stop operating to the gondola and from the Chuo. It did mean a walk back from the village at night if you were after 8:30 pm, 10-20 minutes. We had good weather, so not an issue. Drying room was very good. Hot water and shower pressure great. Free use of washing machine was a bonus. Adjustable room temperature was very effective. A refurb is very overdue and would make a huge difference to the overall feel of the place.

The rooms were small and basic, very dated and some with stained carpets. There were lots of stinkbugs upstairs, which wasn't great. Bar advertised, never opened once during our stay. Evening meal advertised on website was also incorrect. Breakfast basic with one daily hot option, 3 out of 7 days there was a Japanese hot option which was beautifully presented. Take your own slippers, they do provide them but definitely worth packing your own.

Hot breakfast was different everyday and freshly cooked from when you arrived from your room. The staff were eager to help us out with any queries and gave us local knowledge. Room's had a heater we could control and with windows, we could open. Rooms where exceptionally clean and spacious, with thick western style matrtesses.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Transport to and from Chuo terminal on arrival and departure was great. In addition, hotel offered evening transport to and from the village centre which was an additional welcomed service

First time to stay at Altitude Nozawa, it is a bit far from the slopes but very convenient as the free bus that goes around town stops in front of the property. I suggest you rent your skis near the slopes and look for one that can store it for you so you can leave it after a long day. Staff are so nice and accommodating.

Rooms are a bit outdated and walls are too thin that when my little girl was talking (softly), the guests from the other room would bang the walls to say we're noisy (we're not).

It was just far enough out of town to be quiet and within walking distance of the town

The beds were extremely uncomfortable. So hard they were like sleeping on a plank of wood. Also during a 1 night stay our rooms were not serviced once. I had to ask for a dustpan and bush to clean the floor of the bathroom.
