Tampat do Aman

Det här är ett toppen boende om man gillar att vistats i naturen och befinna sig på en tyst och avslappnad plats, som har nära till fina stränder där det knappt är några människor. Hade turen att se solnedgången samt uppgången dagen efter. Värden Howard var otroligt välkomnande och tog väl hand om en och visade ett genuint intresse för boendet likaväl som området och lokalbefolkningen. Rekommenderar starkt detta boende.

La struttura è immersa nella giungla. Già dal balcone della camera si possono osservare una buona varietà di flora e fauna e soprattutto ci si può rilassare ascoltando i vari suoni della giungla. Inoltre la struttura è molto grande con possibilità di fare piccole camminate in cerca di animali ed offre anche un percorso segnato molto suggestivo. Colazione semplice ma buonissima! Howard è stato molto accogliente e disponibile nel consigliarci cosa visitare nei dintorni e nel rispondere in generale a tutte le nostre domande.

Having your own vehicle is recommended. Howard was great though and shuttled us around.

Howard is a very lovely host and interesting to talk to. His transformation of the jungle, and the preservation of the local cuture is impressive and admirable. The chalets had a lovely character to them. Howard made cracking eggs on toast for breakfast. Tip of Borneo just down the road, beaches are lovely.

We were unlucky to have heavy rain which was very loud on the corregated roof, keeping us up at night. The bed was very hard. We were also unfortunate to have hornets in the room and giant ants all over our clothes in the suitcase in the morning. Expect jungle living at it's wildest!

We had a fantastic time at Tampat Do Aman. Howard was more than helpful when it came to recommendations for walks, beaches and even local restaurants. Howard also might be the most interesting bloke I’ve ever met - I urge you to just talk to him about his life when he serves up your eggs on toast and I promise you won’t regret it. In terms of the accommodation, it’s simple but does what it needs to. Howard also stressed that the whole area is constantly undergoing maintenance to continually improve it. We also liked the Rungus museum onsite as it gives a great insight into how the indigenous tribe lives and to understand their unique rituals.

Howard is 9.5/10. Missed 0.5 fornot giving us correct cafe hours. He really has poured his heart into this place. Beaches amazing, breakfast on point. Inas for lunch(by the main beach) could mot recommend more. Beds comfy.

If you're looking for a place to be away from the world, and like to be surrounded by beautiful nature and the best beaches, look no further. Howard is definitely the best host on the island! He takes you to and from the beach and goes out of his way to make your stay wonderful. We only stayed for 2 nights, but we wish it was 20! We slept in a simple hut with only a mattress and a fan, with showers and toilets very close by. Don't expect a lot of luxury here, but that's all part of the experience. The only other feedback I'd like to give is that the price is quite high if you're looking purely at the state of your bedroom, especially for a backpacker budget. But still, we would pay it over and over again because the service, the location and the experience make it so worth it! Don't skip this place when visiting Borneo, it's the most magical part of the island!
