AFYA Village at the sea

This is my second review, it was ana amazing place and the food Ali makes is just out of this world and the staff is amazing, timoth who is on the reception always will make you feel right at home and this guy has really good respectful manners which we loved about him, all of then were just good and respectful which will be appreciated

The place is isolated and very relaxing, timothy was very very friendly and helpful. they also made us some great food, we tried every day a different meal and it was great every day.

The road to the property is very tough and long, which made us think twice before we go out.

The best thing is the Privacy and the Staff were amazing, they made us feel right at home and it was perfect, and the breakfast was emasculate

Everything was Perfect but just need to install a bidet and fix the showerhead in the bungalow where we stayed Other then that everything amazing

Le staff very nice and attentionated, the lodge was confortable with a terrasse, the breakfast was very good, and the meals in the restaurant too, the fact it was very quiet and safe.

When we have to leave this place !

Afya village is a place to relax and enjoy the beach, animals, and nature. The place is very nice and also the staff, Thanks, Timoth!! and they offer an amazing fulfilling breakfast

Truly paradise on earth! The most peaceful and restful spot. Could not have asked for more and wished I had more time to stay at AFYA. Really special place to stay if you want to get away from the busier places on the island. The staff were excellent, Timothy was very attentive and the food was good.

Nothing negative to say, it was the best place I stayed in on Zanzibar Island. Getting there was bit challenging as the road is rough, but it is worth it.

If you want a place to stay that’s completely secluded and quiet with a beautiful view it’s worth the bumpy road to get there.

Your only option to eat and drink is in the restaurant and it’s very overpriced for the amount of food you get. Although the meals were good

Breakfast included fresh fruits as starter, followed by hot breakfast. Dinners were a la carte and very well prepared. Remote location was exactly what we wanted, and on the sea. Very friendly, helpful and informative staff all round. Great 11-days spent here, during which time we became "family" with ALL the staff present, including the owner, Ali. It has become a "home away from home" and we will definitely return and refer family and friends. Timothy manages FOH, Bar and all excursions can be arranged through him. Captain Mudhy is the friendly smile you get to see every morning, if you an early riser. Laundry can be washed upon request and all staff are willing to help, advize or just chat at any time of the day.

The access roads are rough and takes time to navigate. There is not direct access to "sandy beach" in front of the venue itself, as this is mostly flat rock which is easy to walk on with flipflops, booties, etc. If you want to walk on a "sandy beach' then you have to walk down left for about 10-minutes.

Remote place, very little people also in the hotel. Good Breakfast (everyday different), nice staff

Room smellt a bit wet (like a wet dog), to go the the next town a taxi/mototaxi is required. One standing ventilator.

I enjoyed very pleasant and relaxed vibe. The staff is very nice and relaxed. I stayed only for one night, but it was perfect to get in touch with my self. The views are beautiful, the garden is very relaxing. The sounds of waves are amazing, but they are not there all the time. The bungalow had sea view and it was nice just relaxing there. The dinner was very delicious, I enjoyed, you could feel the food was prepared with care. The breakfast was also nice.

When the tide is low, the sea goes really low. Walking around requires shoes as there are stones in the beach. So if you enjoy swimming like me some parts of the days around this area is hard, there are sea urchins 🙃.. But you can walk to Michamwi and swim there.
