The Crucible lodge with Hot Tub

Great location for getting out and exploring this part of Yorkshire. The lodge was very clean, tidy and spacious, with a large smart TV, which kept the teenagers happy. The hot tub was a welcome addition at the end of a day exploring the area.

Although the lodge can sleep 6, it's really more suitable for 4. There is a pull-out sofa in the main living area, which, although it does sleep 2, is a basic foam mattress, so it's not the most comfortable of nights sleep. The other beds in the two bedrooms are more than fine though.

Location loverly, jjs restaurant was fantastic for service ,food, and pricing.

Crucible lodge heating was not working, so I had to have maintenance out on arrival, also no lighting worked at all in the kitchen area,this could not be fixed until we left, no bulbs working in the lamps, batteries were not working in TV remote, 1 remote in bedroom was missing, left over toilet rolls from previous people, no welcome pack, dirty bed sheet, freezer leaked water all over the floor, which resulted in my 80 year old mother slipping as we couldn't see due to no lighting in the kitchen area, maintenance did defrost the frezzer while we was there so the door could shut, this also posed as a fire risk.we was offered another lodge but we had un packed and my mum was in shock and didn't want to move as it was late, and we was only their for 2 nights.Not enough seating at the table for a six birth as there's only seating for 4 people at the dining table, plastic wine glasses that had been put through the dishwasher made them cloudy and made them look dirty, en suite bathroom smelt of suridge so couldn't use due to overwhelming smell. Carpets dirty as was the sofa especially the arms of the sofa, there was a big chunk of framing on the door missing and damage to the walls in the hallway where I think could be due to people with suitcases craming them through this was known but still rented out,!! Blinds in the lodge kept falling down and where missing, no lights in the cooked hood worked either, needs alot of work doing and money spent on it, to bring it to a good standard especially when your paying alot of money for the stay. Hot tub was amazing.Talked with the general manager, who was going to have a meeting with the owner as this is a private lodge as this does not have a positive look on the park, to address all the problems, all in all the park is loverly, won't be staying at the Crucible again even tho I had got it booked for our Anniversary, but going to stay in one of their lodges.

Good location spacious, clean and tidy well presented

Could do with little welcome packs that contain a sponge and tea towel also a brush for the floor. More toilet roll would also be useful. The water temperature in the shower was far too hot and unable to turn it down also there was damage to the door and wall in the twin bedroom, the shelf in the fridge door was also broken.

Stunning lodge in a really peaceful location. Well presented and not too far from local amenities.

It had everything we needed. Only improvements I could suggest would be to provide instructions for hot tub, and to have oven filters cleaned (previous guests must have cooked bacon and the smell lingered).
