The Crucible lodge with Hot Tub

Great place to relax, location is very pleasant.

The lodge is now looking shabby in places, missed the pizza shack. Attention to cleaning missing.

Location, hot tub

No response from owners when asked if could bring our digs, lodge is dated and desperately in need of new flooring, beds, lots of repairs needed to doors and flooring etc, nothing been replaced for a long time, also very little cutlery not enough for our family of 6, also decking furniture has no cushions so not comfortable, our 4th stay here and different lodge each time and this was the worst

Very spacious, great location

Lack of bedding and towels for all guests. Booked for 5 people but only 4 towels and no quilt cover for the spare quilt

The lodge was extremely dirty The pull out bed was broken first night there we had to sleep on the floor The hot water in the shower was as hot as a boiled kettle When offered another lodge it was not worth the money we had spent on this one. So we made the choice to stay in a dirty lodge . As a group we go away once a year to be able to relax and spend sometime together away from day to day life this year was not relaxing at all. When asked about getting a refund on some of our holiday we were told there is nothing they could do for us

Location great for York and surrounding towns. Lovely quiet park with nicely sized lodges. Fully kitted out with small utility space in the entrance. Comfy beds and hot tub was great to use.

The hot tub was hard to use with the top well worn. Moving it on, off and storing correctly during was very difficult. On our 3rd day we returned early afternoon to a full park power cut. We received no information as to this, we only learnt this by enquiring at reception. To also then learn their bar and restaurant was closed outright. As the issue was local area we were directed to follow the northern power website. In a cold dark lodge and park with phone (torch) power depleting and a small child to care for, this power cut was delayed even longer and we had to make the call to pack and return home early. No information came via message, booking.com, and reception had closed. I've since messaged and had no reply.

Location, cleanliness, hot tub, comfortable beds

Could have been more in the kitchen to cook with, for example there was no baking trays to put pizza in the oven and needed more pans to cook breakfast, also would have been nice to have a couple of bin liners available in the lodge for rubbish. Also there was no small vacuum/ sweeping brush to have a bit more of a tidy round. But apart from that it was lovely.

The lodge was large with plenty space. We were only there 2 nights but plenty comfort to stay for longer period.

We wasn’t able to top the hot tub back up during our stay.
