Uros Utasa Lodge

We stayed 2 nights on the Uro island and what can we say - it has been a wonderful, memorable and remarkable experience to stay with Raul and his family. It is great hospitality, relaxing atmosphere and you can learn in an authentic way how the life of the Uros looks like. You will hear about the shift from fishing, etc. to tourism, how the islands are build, you can enjoy a trip with Raul on the lake Titicaca and you will also get great food. While it has been quite cold in the evenings/ during the nights we have never been freezing. For sure you should bring the right clothes but you will also get a warming bottle for the night and multiple layers of blankets which will keep you warm. It has been a remarkable and unforgettable experience for us and we can highly recommend this stay.

Raul and Ceila were great hosts and explained a lot about the local culture. The room had an awesome view with a porch right next to the water. We were not cold in the night because Raul provided us with hot water bottles for under the blankets. There was also a gas heater available. We really enjoyed our stay and it is a great place to relax a bit.

Raoul's wife cooked simple but delicious dinner and breakfast. What I liked the most is that they provided hot waters upon arrival and also next day morning - delivered to your room and kept you warm. Also the shower is HOT! toilet is super clean, even though the water pressure was a bit low but you can have a hot shower at this place which is amazing. Also the free shuttle from the port and the taxi arrangement from the bus terminal - everything went so smooth. Will definitely recommend to people.

Cant really expect more on this tiny floating island, it has been a great experience. (Only note there's no wifi and chargers at the room. It comes a phone charger with cable that you can use).

If you want a phenomenal home stay experience on Uros - stay here! The views were beautiful and facilities were clean. The shower had hot water and great water pressure. Moreover, Raul was extremely welcoming and gave a great local tour where he showed us the Uros way of life. His wife / sister also cook tasty food, with eggs and trout straight from his own farm.

The toilets were dry which takes some getting used to, but this is common on Uros (hard to build modern sewer systems on floating islands), and they cleaned it everyday so the smells were under control.

I had the most wonderful time with Raul and his family. The Cabin has everything you need and is extremely comfortable with awesome views from both your patio and bed. It's one of my favorite places, arguably my favorite place I've stayed while traveling the world. Very unique experience. Raul and family are happy to show and share every day life living on the islands. Food is simple but excellent. Raul goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and brings a big thermos daily for tea and coffee. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Fantastic experience. Raoul is very nice, the communication is very good before the stay. He really take care of the host. The place is magical, the room is nice with nice dinner and breakfast. I recomend.

Lovely view. Huge, clean room with balcony. Delicious breakfast and dinner delivered to room. Shuttle to island included in price. Enjoyed a full moon rising over the lake. Great hosts.

Confusing bathroom

The nicest family, always smiling and making our stay magical. We really enjoyed our 2 nights at the Utasa Lodge it was such a relaxing experience with wonderful views and the thick blankets kept us warm at night. And as an added bonus the kittens was a huge hit wit the kids. Thank you Raul and family for a lovely time.
