Our stay at the Hluhluwe River Lodge was absolutely lovely. From the incredible welcome and friendly hospitality that started the moment we arrived and continued throughout our stay, to the delicious food and beautiful accommodation. We can’t wait to come back! And we can’t recommend the River Lodge enough. Absolutely superb!

"Nice place but good luck getting there with a regular car"

Rebecca at reception was phenomenal. Keep it up! The location was breathtakingly scenic.

5km of rutted gravel road that was not mentioned anywhere prior to arrival. This drive shook a German car with low profile tyres to near breaking point. UNACCEPTABLE to not inform guests about this!! And then the night duty guy at reception tried to paint this as, "no big deal...what's the fuss about?"

The villa for two people is comfortable. It is clean and large enough to move around. The breakfast with their lunch box has enough food to carry you thru your daily Safari. The nite dinner is outstanding, delicious and plenty. Do not be deterred by the dirt road leading to the lodge you will eventually get to a very quiet place surrounded by nature.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and plentiful. Central location to hluhluwe and surrounds

To classify as a 4 star perhaps a few smalls things could be upgraded such as better linen and towels and the mismatched coat hangers, but it was a lovely place to stay.

"Great place to stay with amazing food."

Great staff and brilliant chef. Food was amazing. Lots of antelope on the property. Nice pool to lounge around after game drives.

It’s a 30 min drive to the Hluhluwe reserve but was not really a hinderance. The staff and accommodation made up for it.
