Tiggywinkle Beck Lodge

Highly recommend staying here with or without pets. Well equipped beautiful lodge right near the water and main building. Everything you need is on the lodge such as iron, ironing board, hoover, hairdryer, etc etc plus there is an on-site laundrette. Owner provided handwash, fly spray, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc etc plus a lovely welcome bottle of rose with a little welcome note which was a lovely touch. Definitely worth seeing what is in the lodge before buying any toiletries when doing your initial shop. Our boys spent most mornings in the indoor pool. Everything you need in the lodge, on-site or a short work away. Easy access to different areas on foot, by car or by bus. Asda shop delivery facility was a lovely surprise which saved us a lot of time. Owners of our lodge were really helpful and friendly as was their Housekeeper who we met when we arrived on-site early and had a walk around the site. She was the one who told us about Asda delivering 😊. We didn’t go to the evening entertainment but there was bingo, singers and comedy acts. Probably more than that but we chose to be out and about during the day and to rest/fall asleep watching TV in the evening. Lots of family games provided in the lodge as well as Wi-Fi. Staff onsite were all really friendly and helpful. Thank you for a fab week. 😊

Everything. The location is perfect, the lodge is beautifully maintained, comfortable, exceptionally clean and very well equipped with lovely homely touches. The owners have thought of everything down to the finest detail. Highly recommended

Absolutely gorgeous, clean, spacious lodge. Best holiday we've been on as a family. The lodge was spotless, setting is Absolutely beautiful in windemere, right on the lake. Were lucky enough to see the northern lights during our stay. Will definitely return :)

Nothing at all.

Location is great. Easy access to Ambleside and Windermere. Parking right out front of the lodge. The holiday park has a shop and other facilities on site. The living area is very nice and the kitchen is has pretty much everything you need. Communication with the owner was very good and the security deposit was returned promptly after the stay.

If you need reliable interent this is probably the major downside. Max speed is about 10Mbps but this seems to be a shared connection so in the evening speeds plummet to new dial up levels (100-500kbps). This unfortunately meant we couldn't really take advantage of the smart TV in the evenings which was a real shame as we had planned on watching some films on Netflix. Phone signal is also spotty on both mine and my partners networks (Vodafone and EE). If this is not something you need in a stay then please ignore but for us it definitely knocked a point or so off the experience.

Cleanliness of the lodge was terrible and extra charges that wasn’t detailed on Booking.com. I asked Julie about these charges, Advised that booking.com does not allow to show these extra costs. I feel it was an opportunity to make extra money so booking.com does not get there commission.I searched for dog friendly properties. I was made to pay £25 pounds for this, the property had dog hairs all over the window sills and on the skirting boards. I also paid £25 pounds for a late check out @ 12.30. Due to getting a message that we had to leave the property @ 10am, I left at 9.40 am on Sunday. I was also advised somebody would meet me at the property and also when we were to leave. I asked about who would check the property prior to paying extra £100 pounds security deposit , This never happened ?. I have requested a full refund due to the dirty state of the property and also one plant bed was full of roll up cigarettes butts. The level of misrepresentation by this host was poor and we felt misguided. Lastly, when I called Julie to ask why there wasn’t any tea or coffee, we were advised they stopped supplying these during Covid, I was left gob smacked as Covid is officially over . This should have been mentioned in the booking description. I also have videos of the state of this property if you wish to see them. I have messaged Julie and also sent the images and videos with no response.
