Tiggywinkle Beck Lodge

Tiggywinkle Beck Lodge was perfect! We had the best time. It was well-equipped, it had much more than I was expecting (hand wash in both bathrooms, washing up liquid, tea towel, kitchen roll, tin foil etc) so we didn’t even need a full bag of stuff that we’d brought with us! Fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, hob etc, there was even an iron & ironing board in the magic cupboard AND a hoover! Very cosy, the throws were amazing and furniture very comfortable. We all had good nights’ sleep, the duvets were so nice! The lodge is in a perfect location, just wish we’d got to use the decking area but the weather had other plans (not a surprise in October/November). Julie was always at the end of the phone if needed, very good communication from the point of us booking to when we left. Would love to come back!

It’s not that we didn’t like it, we just didn’t use the en-suite shower enclosure as we found the shower in the main bathroom (over the bath) much roomier. We found the lodge a little cooler in the afternoons (it was the end of October obviously!) but used the throws to get cosy on the settee and watch the tv, I think heating was on a timer but we didn’t ask the host about altering it. It didn’t spoil our stay at all.

Lovely really well presented property right in the heart of the lakes. Decor is lovely and makes you feel like it’s home away from home. There’s also everything you need from comfortable beds to kitchen equipment to make your stay easy.

Excellent location & very peaceful. Accomodation was pleasant, clean & comfortable base for our needs.

Being charged an unknown amount for dogs after the booking was paid for. £35 extra cleaning charge seemed excessive considering we cleaned the lodge prior to leaving (wife is a cleaner of high end properties in Devon). Shower door in ensuite was broken & section wouldn't close properly....very small shower enclosure. Finding a notice stating gas/electricity would be charged for excessive use; left us feeling slightly uneasy as the lodge wasn't particularly warm without the heating on.

Lodge was super clean and in a private location on the park. Private parking next to lodge made things easy. Beds were very comfortable with good quality linen etc. Kitchen was really well equipped. Communication with the owner was excellent.

One door on the en-suite corner shower was difficult to open/close. Some stains on wall in the en-suite above the door (assume this is due to condensation). These issues didn’t affect our stay at all though.

2nd bedroom was a bit small - wouldn’t recommend for 2 couples staying , but perfect for family with two smaller children

The owner asked me to deposit £100, and after our stay I got only £61 back with the explanation that I was charged for late check out which was not true since we left at 9:30. I tried to dispute it with no luck. So it’s basically a ripoff.

Excellent communication from owners. Very clean. Great facilities. The park itself is in a great location with parking right outside the lodge.
