Casa Maya

Sicuramente si trova del tutto immerso nel Rio Dulce, ed in kajak è possibile raggiungere anche dei ristoranti vicini se se ne ha voglia. La famiglia è carinissima e la cucina buona e adeguata (si paga solo in contanti). I bungalow sono immersi nella foresta e con ventilatore. Molto carine le notti nel patio.

Ce fut un séjour extraordinaire, dans un cadre unique et accompagné d’une famille fabuleuse. Nous sommes sommes restés 3 nuits, la cuisine, assurée par la famille, est correcte et authentique. Perdu en pleine nature, cet hôtel est idéal pour faire une pause et se reposer, de profiter des coucher de soleil sur le ponton, et de faire du kayak sur le Rio dulce. Tout est pensé et réalisé avec le cœur dans cet hôtel. Cela restera un de nos meilleurs souvenirs au Guatemala.

This is truly a little slice of paradise. It's tiny, only a few cabins and when we were there we were the only guests for most of the time. The property and cabins are clean and well maintained. They offer a la carte dinners and activities at very good prices. Marta and family are truly delightful to be around and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. I really hope we get the chance to come back and visit again.

It is very remote. The menu is limited and only a couple of options are available outside of the hotel, keep in mind you have to either rent a kayak or take a boat to get anywhere from the hotel. This isn’t a bad thing, just something to keep in mind

The family that runs the hotel is absolutely exceptional. Extremely kind and they treat you like you’re a part of the family. I was really lucky to not have many other people during my stay. The tables in the rooms is a winner for me, not many places have that and I really needed it. The WiFi is really good and I could work with no issues. You’ll need to lay everywhere with cash. The shower in the dorms is interesting, let’s say you’ll have a view right at the nature :) the water in the shower is really refreshing which is actually really good excuse it’s really hot there during the day. the forest area could use some cleaning or more organized wilderness but still awesome place. I was really surprised that there were almost no mosquitos. When you’re there definitely tent the kayak! And omg Marta’s food is freaking amazing!!! Definitely order topas (pricey but delicious!!!)

Because you’re really dependent on either eating in the hotel or taking a boat to the city I think the food could be slightly cheaper.

very nice local guesthouse in an amazing location with a superb view of the river. Nice local food. If you want to experience a local stay, Casa Maya is a good place!
