Vipilodge

Location was beautiful, cabin was good with lots of privacy. It had good facilities but missed having wifi. Host was friendly, welcoming and very helpful. He guided us to plan our meals etc.

A little clearing or lawn kind, in front of the cabin and around the path ,may have kept the mosquitoes and flies at bay. There were too many mosquitoes to be able to sit around the lake or just spend some time outside the cabin. There was a musty smell in the cabin because of all the humidity. Worst of all, there was no wifi or cell signal in and around the cabin so it was difficult to keep connect with outside world and plan our itinerary for the next day. Had to come out to connect with the host.

Very outdated Needs new bedding utensils, pot, and pans smells very, very musty needs more. Keeping up very swampy No barbecue need to drive down to beach area to barbecue. Which is 10 minute to 15 minute walk. Had to go by candles because of the old musty smell.

That I couldn't stay longer

Vipilodge is wonderful if you want to get away somewhere quiet, peaceful and relaxing. If you prefer to be more active then Ingo will happily take you out in his boat, rent you a kayak or bike or take you diving. The cabin was surprisingly large, and very well equipped with everything we needed. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Ingo and Maria could not have been more friendly and helpful and were both willing to spend time with us and were very interesting to talk to. Our stay at Vipilodge perfectly ended our vacation in Cape Breton.

It's a fabulous, quiet, secluded, very peaceful place hidden in the wood. 3 min walk to the waterfront. Lots of great hiking trails around. Amazingly cozy cabin where we spent unforgettable moments having morning coffee on the porch, listening rain or birds singing, and breathing in the aromas of the leaves and ocean. Fantastic, utterly thoughtful friendliest management by Ingo. One of the best vacation experiences we ever had! Highly recommended!
