I liked the heated bed. I liked dinner. The Game drive was lovely

I filled out a form and requested a cake and the room to have Happy Anniversary. This wasn't done, not sure why which was very disappointing. There was a hair band in the shower which meant it wasn't cleaned or else the hair band would have been disposed off. The towels that were meant to be white looked brown and dirty. The water bottle in the fridge looked dirty and had brown stuff on the lid of the bottle maybe mould. We ordered breakfast and the cool drinks were literally warm. We requested toast and asked to omit the mushrooms and tomatoes but this was ignored. While eating breakfast the game ranger was in a hurry and requested our keys to collect our bags to put in the vehicle. As a result we rushed and ate breakfast. This is our second time here and we wouldn't be returning based on our experience. The first time was special and the service was excellent. But not this time. The small things counted when we came the first time, for example, Wedgewood Nougat that was left on the side of our bedside. This time, there wasn't anything.

"Dissapointing"

3.0

The view was beautiful.

We were really disappointed with our experience at Nambiti Hills last week. Having stayed at Nambiti Plains a few years ago, the difference in value for money between the two is unbelievable. Sadly, I wouldn’t return to or recommend Nambiti Hills to anyone. We paid over R9 000 on Booking.com for an all-inclusive one-night stay. The listing clearly stated Full Board Included - breakfast, lunch and dinner - yet the staff had no idea what “all-inclusive” meant. We weren’t even offered lunch on arrival. When I asked, I was told lunch wasn’t included, only a 3 pm tea. Being 33 weeks pregnant and hungry, I asked if we could order food and was told à la carte wasn’t available. An hour later, I saw other guests being served lunch and was then told it was available - but only at an extra cost. Before our stay, I phoned to confirm which drinks were included and was told selected coffees, soft drinks and cocktails. On arrival, I was told only virgin cocktails were included. After my second, I was told no cocktails at all were included. Even at breakfast there was no coffee menu. For the price, the value was shocking. At Nambiti Plains (a cheaper lodge) all-inclusive truly meant all-inclusive, with exceptional service. Here, there was often no bartender despite the lodge being full. I waited more than 15 minutes at an empty bar on several occasions. For this price, I’d expect staff to take and deliver orders around the pool — service you’d find even at a 3-star resort. And lastly, I understand the boma braai night is for overseas guests, but paying R9 000 to serve myself braaied meat, pap, potato salad and butternut was disappointing. If we’d known it was a braai night, we wouldn’t have booked that evening. Overall, the experience was confusing, poorly communicated and far below expectations. Definitely not worth the cost, and we won’t be returning or recommending the resort.
