Manakin Lodge, Monteverde

Great location, a bit outside the center but really close by car. The facilities are rustic but really comfortable and cozy.

The location is alright, you walk 20-25min to the city centre. There are a few cafes and restaurants close to the hostel.

It was unfortunately, one of the worst hostels I had been to in Central America. The room was dirty, the bed sheets had holes and they were not very clean. The mattress was awful too. The facilities definitely need renovation. The room had a moldy smell too. The owner was unfriendly when I asked about the dirty bed sheets.

Location was near what we wanted to do. Rooms were clean and as advertised. Wifi was good

Limited parking. Host was not responsive at first and had to call them multiple times to let them know we were here.

The rooms were very big, nice, and clean, and they were in a great location. The water was warm, and the staff was amazing! I loved this place! They were super friendly, honest, and very helpful!

Everthing was great

It is the most charming shabby hostel we ever booked. The owners are so nice and you can ask for a clean room and towels daily. Jungle paintings all over the walls. Monkeys on the balcony.

It is very cheap, so don’t expect top class beds or showers.

We really enjoyed the terrace and the view from the room. The owner was also very kind and gave us a lot of useful informations !

We loved Manakin Lodge! Good, quiet location near bus stop and delicious bakery. The view from our room was very nice, with a huge window looking out into the forest. We could see birds and monkeys from the balcony! The kitchen is well stocked with free coffee in the morning. We enjoyed hanging out and playing board games in the common room as well. Most notably, the owner and staff are so lovely, and are eager to give recommendations and help out in any way they can. Thank you for a great stay!
